The sign on the door at the boulevard redirecting to the hostel would be clearer

The room was advertised as a private double with en suite. In reality is was the spare room in an elderly lady's apartment with two single beds. There was absolutely no privacy, the bathroom was located across the shared living room and the apartment owner felt completely comfortable entering our room whenever she wanted. If the room was advertised as a home stay I would not have booked it.

We stayed in the private twin room in the shared apartment. The location was great. There was no window or air vent in the room so it was very stuffy, hot and dark. The hostel is located just two minutes walk away. It was quiet in SS while we were there so we were hoping the hostel would have something organised or advise us what to do, but nothing. Even though there were posters in the apartment advertising bike tours, walking tours and Basque experience run by hostel they weren't running

Most things about this hostel are fine, like the cleanliness and location. But the staff are terrible. They´re not helpful and not very friendly. One of the workers told my friend and I that a great restaurant had just recently closed but we saw it was open the next day! They´re also really impatient and don´t seem to have very much knowledge of the town.

The dorm and the bathrooms were dirty. We asked for a lockage and they gavetta us one broken, twice. Breakfast's mess but at least is free. Totally not worth it for the price we paid.

Great hostel, location is perfect - walking distance from everything! We had two cars, and there was no parking right next to the hostel but that wasn't a problem because the staff told us a good place just 15 min away walking. In general the staff were great, really friendly and gave good tips about what to see/where to go! The rooms were well heated, all facilities and breakfast very good (and most importantly the breakfast stuf gets refilled, and doesn't run out in the first hour!) :)

negative: reception closes at 10pm; breakfast poor; lack of energy plugs; some bathrooms are too small (but they are not bad ones). positive: location; bathrooms are clean

Location is perfect near the concha beach and the old center. Staff was very helpful and price are really cheap. We were 12 people and asked for 2 rooms (8 + 4) : no problems. It was not very clean but for few nights partying that was not a big issue (it was not dirty) Maybe too few showers per steps !

The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The hostel couldn't be in a better place. The plaza Guspukoa is very well located. the downside is that there were no hot shower mostly of the time I stayed in there. Also hooks in the bathroom would be very helpful. no place to hang the towel and clothes. Additionally, I was a little confused on the date I should check out. I think it would be nice to have the date and time clear in the reservation confirmation as well as a message saying

I wish the common areas were open later/earlier, lockers in the rooms would be nice, carpet in rooms needed a deep clean and surfaces needed to be dusted. It would be nice to have hooks in the rooms and toilets to hang stuff up. Staff was nice. Lots of nightlife a few blocks away.

we enjoyed it very much, great location, spacious rooms and clean as were the showers and communal areas too. Well equipped kitchen and breakfast provided. We had a room with a balcony one can stand on which was great, some rooms have none and may feel suffocating.

A pretty good hostel! The beds were good and quiet and the facilities were good. It was great to have computers to use which were free (they have about 8 so there's no waiting either!). I'd recommend this hostel!

We were redirected to a sister hostel that we had no idea of. This was inconvenient, but the staff was able to make up for it. I recommend that in the future they tell you exactly what you are getting before you give them your money. The manager after a little bartering was able to give us a small refund that we deemed acceptable. Overall the staff was very friendly and were great accommodators.
