Due to overbooking we got a room at another room at tge marina orientel hotel. This room was more expensive, but the value inn paid for the difference in price. We didnt saw much of the value inn itself, but the foyer looked beautiful and clean. The staff was so nice and helpful. They kept saying they were sorry about the overbooking and brought us by car to the other hotel. When I asked josephine what the mustsees in buttersworth, she even brought us to the nearest temple by car! Soo nice staf!

For a one night stopover the Value Inn was a good deal. They were very helpful ordering taxis for us to get to the ferry for an afternoon visit to Penang Island and for the train station the next day. It is in the middle of nowhere really, so if you are not getting an early train like us, you might want to consider staying in Georgetown. But for the price we paid, we were more than happy with the place for a night. If I remember correctly it was cash only...just a word of warning.
