Everything is great there. Just a comment about the Wifi, which does not work if you are not in the lobby, so we always need to get down to use it.

Staff were amazing very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and housekeeping came even though we only there for two days. The location is brilliant just 10 minute walk to grand central station. The facilities were brilliant free wifi with a great connection , airport shuttle for only $20 and held our bags in a safe room for the day after we checked out for only $2. I would definitely stay here again thank you

The frontdesk staff were very helpful and controled very hard the bags left after checkout. One of the elevators were broken and the showers were with very dirty floors. Worth a try (good value).

Staff was really nice except the lady at check out, a lovely smile at six am would have been great especially as all the other colleagues during the day and night were great. The matress could do with a replacement but other than that price and location were good!

The location was by far the best part! So close to all you need, other then walking a few blocks for the subway(not far at all). The rooms were small, but had every thing you need. No curfew was great and you have access to gym and pools! The only complaint is the staff! Not friendly or helpful at all. Any question we had(reguarding places to go or info about other hostels) if answered, had attitude and frustration. It seems like none of them like their job! Otherwise...we enjoyed our stay!!

No value for money

The rooms could definitely use maintenance - the electric outlet in my room only worked if you angled the plug a particular way, and then only one socket (the 2nd didn't work at all). Of the 3 ladies' showers on the floor, 1 was roped off & obviously nonworking. The ladies toilet had no paper towels for most of my first day there. However, the staff were great, the bed was acceptable, the a/c worked & the location was perfect

I am 17 and when I arrived at the YMCA they said my reservation was invalid because I am a minor. Luckily my friend is 18 and we could put the reservation on her name.

Room floor was sticky and there was dust/trash in corners. Curtain was very dusty. Shower stall needed to be cleaned more often.

The are not enough showers/toilets for the number of people staying here, plus they needed a good clean and repair. Showering was not a pleasant experience. Rooms felt like cells but thats to be expected given the price-range I believe.

It´s New York...so you wont get a cheaper room for your money..but at least you get everyday cleaning of your room and you have the possibility to use the gym, sauna and swimming pool everyday!! And the location close to 3rd Avenue...there´s nothing else to say ;-)

The room while small was clean, however the walls were not very soundproof and I was woken up at 4am one night by someone vomitting in a corresponding room. The shower facilities were not very private and one morning I had to go to 3 separate floors before finding toilet that was sufficiently clean. I was also made to purchase a ticket in order to store my bag when checking out, the amount wasn't huge but as I didn't have exact money I had to go across the road to get change. Not recommended.

Not enough power points (had to unplug the TV, refrigerator and AC to use the plugs) No seating in the room, had to sit on the floor. Lower bunk bed was too high such that one couldnt sit upright on the lower bed without hitting the top Staff were curt and brusque.

Tiny rooms, dirty bathrooms. Everything in NY is going to be small and expensive though. Staff were sometimes helpful but most times blunt /rude. Free use of the gym though, including classes which was great.

The room was quite small; however we really just needed a place to stay in New York. While arriving from JFK it was easier to take the A train to 53rd/Lexington; however setting out to our daily trips within the city it is easier to walk to Grand Central Terminal. The room was cleaned and the towels were changed daily. There are only one set of showers/restrooms per gender per floor and during our stay the washing machines did not work.
