Good prize but sometimes rude people behind the desk and cleaning staff that stole our unopened bottle of wine..

When we arrived we were told that our booking was not on the system because we booked online. The receptionist was not just rude but unsympathetic, flippant and condescending. We were told that it was our problem and we would just have to wait and see if it appeared on the system later. Completely unacceptable. Later when my keycard didn't work again this receptionist spoke down to me as if it was MY fault. However, security staff were great and very friendly. Not worth the price at all.

There's a continuous noise outside of the building (a machine, or something related) that turn your nights a little bit long. There's no internet in the bedrooms, only in the corridor! The location is wonderful, close to everything. The price is high for the service proposed: it's almost the same of a hotel. The shared bathroom upset me more than I thought.

The staff were quite accomodating, and the location was very safe, and quite central. However, there wasn't too many subway stops nearby, which sometimes made travelling around difficult.

Single room was small but adequate. Cleaned daily. Use of gym & pool included. Excellent value

Let's just put it like this. I had the feeling of being inside the movie "The Shining" when I walked down the corridors. In cleanliness, the housekeeping unit was everywhere all the time, but the showers were in poor shape - one of them smelt like urine for more than a day. I could also feel every spring in my bed but the room had both TV, A/C and fridge which is uncommon and very appreciated! Staff was friendly most of the time, the concierge was the most helpful. Waaay too expensive though.

The location is AMAZING! But I had to call the frontdesk about the female toilets! They were disgusting! The receptionist said they should have been cleaned but they were not cleaned for most of the day and it was gross, there had obviously been a big party the night before and well yea...it was horrible! The rooms are tiny, not very inviting but does the job. Poor kitchen facilities. Helpful staff. Slow internet. Location is the only thing good. I think I'd go somewhere else next time...

Negative: Wifi connection was working really badly.. I found some hair in my pillow. The showers where in common with a whole floor ( 4 showers for 50 people). The staff was really mean and there were not common places as living room or kitchens ( so if you are planning to save money in NYC cooking by your own forget it). Positive: location ( near bus stops, subways, united nations headquarters, 10 min walking to times square) . Quiet and not noisy rooms.

Great location to sight see, Grand Central station is only around the corner. The location it self wasn't near any big parties, but not hard to get to using the sub ways. The price was reasonable too, although you do have to stay with someone else as they charge you for the room and not the bed. The in room fridge is a bonus, nice for storing beer. But the hostel it self, lacked the typical hostel atmosphere and common room, but this was never going to be a party hostel.

Good hostel but definitely a hostel. Don't get me wrong it was good but the rooms could be upgraded to get them a little more up to date. Value for money but not fancy.

The front desk staff cancelled my booking without permission, charged my card for the booking, recharged my card for the full amount upon my arrival & then refunded to me the wrong amount as it did not include taxes, leaving me overcharged by about $10. I was too tired to make a fuss & left myself overcharged but on top of that most of the staff could only speak Spanish which made it very difficult to communicate their mistakes... othewise the hostel was a nice place but needs night activiies

Simple, clean accommodation within walking distance to Grand Central Station and all the train lines. Felt very safe to arrive at 2am from JFK as extremely friendly, lovely security guards at the front desk ensured I got to my room asap. Would def recommend to future guests looking for something basic, clean and secure.
