We stayed here for 7 nights at the end of April. It has an amazing location right on Muri Beach. Rooms were very clean and there's a big kitchen to cook your own food. You can catch the bus to the main town from the road. A good place to relax!

Truly on of the most beautiful locations on Earth, I had a group of 13 new formed friends we did community meals, dance or hula lessons and truly marvelous just to sit on the deck. Go there and enjoy!

Perfect location with beautiful view! Booked a 5 bed dorm but was put in a 7 - not a problem as meet more people and the 7 bed is at the front so you can keep the doors open and get some sea breeze. Good kitchen facilities, easy access to small shops and restaurants. Renting a scooter to get round the island is a must - otherwise the buses are really easy also! Would b great if they had some board games to play in the evening as pretty quiet if you just stay at the hostel

This hostel is located in true paradise and I stayed in the best room - just at the terrace with views over the ocean... Reception lady is very kind but is available only for a few hours a day. They arrange airport transport for 10 nzd. I stayed in 5 bed dorm, simple but nice, no bunkbeds. Security might be an issue, since we left the room open all the time - but then, you are in Raro... There are two kitchens and three bathrooms available. Tap water is supposedly not drinkable but we were fine.

Perfect location right on Muri lagoon. Transfers from airport for $10 each way. Friendly and helpful staff, especially Dave the night manager. Rooms clean and functional, kitchen could do with new some new equipment.

The fleeting hours of administration was very challenging; having an office only open a few hours a day made checking in/ out and getting help with reservations very difficult. The staff didn't seem to know anything at all when asked about local events, transport options, or recommended activities. Also, due to the quiet nature of this location, a deck of cards would go a long way here.

I couldn't imagine a better place to stay. Vara's Beach House is definitely my top choice in Rarotonga. The view is outstanding, the staff are friendly and helpful, the price is right and there's nothing I would change about it. I highly recommend them.
