The only bad things I have to say is that the power seemed to give up for some random reasons, sometimes. Not convenient when you are in the shower. And the « window » for the bathroom was replaced by a cardboard smaller than the actual hole left by the missing window... Other than that, good location, restaurant and booking services are useful.

Room had constant blackouts, washroom drainage was clogged and smelled really strong of cleaning solution. Although there is a lively crowd at the lobby, it is often filled with smoke and loud music. Location is good as it is near the riverside... If your looking for a clean and quiet place, look elsewhere

I booked a dorm room with no a/c for 2 nights. It's located on the very top floor. Half the fans don't work. No windows. Doors to the bathroom were super loud. And it was very very messy (mainly 18 yr olds in there). I had to stay in this room for the 1st night since no other ones were available. I switched to an a/c room the 2nd night and it was infinitely better. Definitely pick the a/c dorms. It's worth the extra $2. Good location in terms of sites and walkability. Disliked phnom penh though.

The hostel got its own bar and restaurant which was perfect as you got to know many people. The first night we spent doing jumpstyle in the lobby. During the nights there are tiny restaurants around where you can find hot dogs and great chicken kebap, don't miss dancing and spending nights out. You will definitely meet great people, so enjoy =)

Large, clean dorm room, most beds had personal fans (no A/C). Clean throughout hostel but stairs sometimes smelled like sewer. Trash changed daily. Staff seemed laid back and friendly enough, Open mic night and bustling bar downstairs. WiFi not accessible from largest dorm. Walking distance to National Museum, temples, busy market, the river, and many other restaurants and sites. They provide a clean towel and lockers in rooms. Ceiling leaks mildly when it rains, which was daily during my stay.

The hostel was quite ok, but we arrived at 21:00 at night and our room was not prepared. We came to the room and nobody had cleaned it so far. It was no problem for us, because we still wanted to go out for dinner, but if we had wanted to sleep immediately, it would not have been possible. The staff felt sorry, of course, but things like this should normally not happen.

A good hostel, nothing special but a good place to meet other travelers. It is right next to the river, making it convenient to go for a walk on the river bank at sunset :)

Lot's of fun with a sociable bar downstairs. Lovely staff and good location. The aircon in the $4 dorm doesn't really do it's job so if you don't like being hot upgrade to $6 and that one is freezing!

More than my expectation, the VB was so good at hostel standard, mostly like his twin brother, Velkommen Guesthouse. Definitely come back next time!

Bathrooms were not very clean and the drains for both the shower and handbasin on the first floor were blocked.

Good place to stay, we were in the dormitory of 12 and everything was perfect and clean! Good atmosphere to meet people too! But their prices are quit high so don't hesitate to negotiate directly with Tuk-Tuk driver for instance.

Decent hostel in central area. $6 for a dorm bed is good value although the a/c wasn't great. Friendly staff, sunset river cruise was fun. They messed up my bus booking to Siem Reap so I ended up being 2 hours late - then I found out this had happened to two other people at Velkommen as well. So might be best to book onward travel independently. Generally it's a good hostel though, I'd stay there again if transitting through Phnom Penh.

Nice and imoeccable clean new hostel. Really good value for an AC dorm, and the most bug-free place I've come accross in Cambodia. The bathrooms are clean, have TP and are maintained daily. There is a good and cheap breakfast menu, although the rest of the menu aside from breakfast is uninspiring. Not a big deal though, because they are located right in the most happening part of town so there are tons of places nearby to eat.
