No dramas in a good location. A little tired and could do with a makeover but staff made up for this.

This was my first visit to US. I arrived at the hostel at night. Took a walk along the beach. There was nothing going on and populated with homeless. It was not the image I had of Venice Beach, from all the good reviews on it. There was not many restaurants located next to the hostel. Not many options on public transportation. The overall room & toilet was not exactly clean and well kept. This is an ideal location if you would like to experience the morning & day of Venice Beach.

This hostel was ok, and pretty close to the Venice beach boardwalk. The Venice area is a little dodgy but I never really had any problems there. Brekkie and dinner included which was good however no activities are organized by the hostel which was disappointing. All in all, if you are going to stay at Venice - this place is pretty good.

Outstanding! The receptionist is hot...you can hold an impromptu party there...my room was clean. It's a friggin Hostel people. The Hostel that's HELLA close to one of the coolest beaches in CA. Only complaint..."deposits". I had to give a $100 deposit for my room. Got it back as soon as I checked out....but...eh. Otherwise...it's tops! -Keith

Location is good if you want to stay close to the beach, but it´s possible to get there by bus. The building from outside is horrible, it is old, not nice.. I didn´t have warm water in shower. I was glad to stay there just for one night. But the staff was nice, I had breakfast - included - pancakes. That was great.

Venice Beach is a fantastic place to stay in LA if you want to have some fun and go to some decent bars with good music! Not for bars with cheesy top 40 tunes but actual live gigs with good atmosphere. The hostel is in a fantastic location 5 minutes walk from the beach and I found the room spacious and clean and the staff fine to deal with.

The hostel is located right on Venice beach which was perfect for the 3 lazy days we were after. We did have a day in hollywood but be advised the bus trip took nearly 2 hours. The free breakfast and dinner is a big bonus, not a massive variety but free food so cant complain. Staff were helpful & always willing to answer your questions. Venice beach was the most expensive hostel we stayed at whilst in America and be aware that you have to pay a $100 dollar deposit on arrival.

This hostel has a lot of potential, it's a shame it isn't updated and made a top hostel + they overbooked us with no notice leaving us stuck with a $200 a nigh hotel room after I had confirmed the RSVP the day before, absolutely poor customer service!!!

FANTASTIC LOCATION - amazing for the price we paid to be so close to the beach & right in the center of the action on the boardwalk. The hostel provided good breakfast & dinner every day. The disadvantages - there was no laundry room & the staff were quite rude & wern't always helpful. I came in our room 1 day to find all my clothes & belongings moved off my bed & onto the dirty shelves & kept there. We enjoyed our stay there & it was very good value for money.

Im still waiting to get the deposit back. They were supposed to refund it to us at the check out. However there was nobody at the reception. We left a note asking them to contact us urgently but 36 hours after, I'm still waiting. We are now thinking what to do but regardless of the end, what an unpleasant experience.

Worths the price...it's like a hippy place :) ....I recommend for young people. The breakfast, dinner was simple, but at least food to eat, the kitchen with equipment. Very close to the sea, in the area lots of homeless. Downtown s far, but if you want to rest on the beach its perfect.
