Very nice place. Located not in the CBD but in bustling Brunswick this is the perfect place to relax and a bit longer.

There is no dedicated person for the hotel, you have to go through bar staff. The mattress I had was old and overused to the point that I sunk into it and was unable to lie flat. The showers need more cleaning than once a week. For 30+ people the kitchen was lacking. Always dirty dishes, one small sink, not enough plates, bowls, cutlery, pots or pans were scarce or dirty. Not enough room in the fridge.

The Vic Hotel felt like a home away from home. The fact that there is only about 30 beds and a lot of communal space ( 2 Living rooms, Computer lounge, spacey Kitchen and dining area, balcony) made my stay very pleasant and stressfree. The Pub downstairs seems to be a well established meeting point for the community of Brunswick. The Location is good, Bars, Cafes,Shops and public Transport on Sydney Rd are very closeby and the Trainstation with connection to the CBD even closer!

Really nice. Depend on what you 're looking for, but if you want to meet some interesting and a bit mature people, it's a good place. totally different from hostels like X Base (no overexcited teenager) room : mine had a lot of space, lockers, drawer under bed, sink cleanliness : what you can expect from a hoStel and not a hotel, regular, i'm kind of a sissy and for me it was okay. Brunswick is recommended area from the melburnian if u like art, nice bar and good music so... go 4 it!
