Excellent staff, atmosphere, location, food and drink. Booked the Castaways your with them to Halong Bay and I have to give a special shout out to Rory and the rest of the staff there for being so friendly.
Had a great stay here. The rooms were very nice, spacious and clean. Super comfy beds and the bathrooms were clean which was great. Staff were really nice and helpful and I would say it was great value for money.
This hostel was the noisiest one I have ever ever stayed in! Spent two nights here and then had to move, both nights in different sized rooms, this didn't make a difference they were both soo noisy. Unless you want to get pissed this hostel is terrible. The trips were overpriced. The free walking tour was BRUTAL.
No air con between 10am and 6pm means the rooms in the hostel are unbearable in the day time. To the point my friend was unwell and had to sit in the lobby for 3 hours as this was the only air conditioned place. Rooms aren't the cleanest but the focus of the hostel is definitely on sociability. Hostel staff aren't helpful once informed you will not be booking tours with them. Hostel was average at best, failed to understand such ratings on here.
aome staff on the bar werent the friendliest
Was in an ideal location, always clean and the staff were really helpful if you had any questions. Can get a bit noisy on the evenings if you wanted an early night and there is always someone leaving early in the morning but that's typical hostel life!
cool hostel, I stayed in 3 hostels in Hanoi and all were similar but this was the best. I appreciate that downtown employ a lot of Vietnamese staff but the hostel itself could be anywhere in the world. much like all the hostels I stayed in or visited for quotes while staying in Hanoi, it was pretty generic. I think to stand out there needs to be a real Vietnamese hostel in Hanoi. dont just out posters up about the culture embrace some of it in the hostel decor and layout. otherwise great stay.
V clean hostel, great location. Generous breakfast options. Was quite 'laddy' though.
Really great place to stay if you want to meet lots of people and party all the time! The staff are equally as great and really look after to you to make sure you have fun in Hanoi. The rooms are perfect and bathrooms facilities are great I would defo recommend to stay here if you are both in a group or travelling alone! Buffaloooo!
Sooooo much fun! Definitely a party place though. Castaway was AMAZING!! The most friendly reps i've ever met. Super clean, plenty of free drinks throughout the night, literally in the heart of the Hanoi backpacker area, i bloody loved it personally, met amazing people. Only downside, the vietnamese staff are lovely but they don't even know where there heads are at half the time.. Had to change rooms each night cos they kept mucking it up. Other than that TOP NOTCH!!!! 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Best hostel we have stayed at while travelling South East Asia. Such a great atmosphere, clean bathrooms and enough space in the dorms. Really pleasant staff, would have love to have stayed longer!

Love this place. Great nights out , clean and comfy with lockers. Easy to book trips , recommend the castaway halong bay trip but not the sapa experience (too expensive for what it is) but the hostel is great
Nice and clean. It is a big hostel, but in the female dorm, i still got the feeling of some privacy and cozyness. The chillroom at the top and the ''partyplace'' downstairs were a good combination for fun and relaxing. Comfi beds, good lockers! Nice showers. Staff were friendly and helpfull. After a lot of doubting, we choose to go with de Castaway tour to Halong Bay. Wich was expensive, but worth it (no bad suprises during the trip).
Best hostel we stayed at in Vietnam! Very social, clean, good food and AC, comfy beds. Room to watch movies in and play pool of you want a quieter night. Definitely stay here!

Amazing hostel, great vibe, people, from other hostels would come to Downtown for the bar crawls and chill on 5th floor. Nice TV with excess amounts of films and pool table. Great locational on the main Ma May Street
More flexibility would be good - we wanted to change rooms due to problems the previous night but weren't able to even though many other people hadn't checked in yet. The staff were not very accommodating in this, seemed that they didn't want to look into it for us. Despite this, organised activities were great. The recommended Halong bay cruise was fantastic.
Very well organized hostel. Friendly staff with a good tour office. Definitely go here if you look for a party hostel. Breakfast is insufficient, you need to pay extra for a decent one. Most of the time there are no towels for rent, very annoying!

Staff are absolutely shocking. Very rude and do whatever they can to màke the most money out of you. Guy from jersey had an absolutely shocking attitude
Great place to stay if you want to party. Huge parties here every night and the staff take you out to the near by bars/clubs at 11.30. Great fun to party but a bit too much if you're hungover and don't want to go out. The hostel was clean and the breakfast is good.
