It was one of our favourite hostels if not the best!! Especially ladies night when even the staff (Alex and Justin) dress up as ladies for the night!! We booked the original castaways through this hostel and recommend this to everyone you will not be disappointed!! The food was amazing and as one of us are allergic to eggs they even swapped it over which was amazing as many hostels just say no!! The pool table and computer floor is good and serves free beer every Sunday!! The room is cleaned!!
Party hostel. Many hipsters and cads. Staff very unfriendly and rude. Only try to sell ridiculously expensive trips. I think it's common for the whole Backpackers company. 12 bed dorms are ok, but of course noisy. Absolutely no privacy in the shared bathroom at the corridor. (no ensuite) But at least they were clean. Many free shots and happy hours. Free walking tour is pretty good. Breakfast is a joke. If you want a proper meal u need to pay extra.
Great vibes, really good breakfast and staff really helpful when booking trips elsewhere
Awesome hostel!! Great value for money!! Has awesome facilities! The rooms are good with a/c. The Vietnamese staff are really cool!! Great orginised functions and awesome place to meet fellow travellers! Has a good party vibe but the bar closes at 11pm and the party people all move on to bigger and better things, so the party does not go all night long so it's also a good place to sleep! A definite stay of your in Hanoi!!
Great, lively hostel with a vibrant social atmosphere - probably not for those looking to chill. They do a lot of evening activities and games like beer Olympics etc which is good for meeting people. They offer a good free breakfast, showers are clean and security for locking things away is the best I've seen in Asia. I also booked my travel and hostel for Sapa through them too - cheap and we'll organised.
Great hostel. Great beds, showers, common area, staff. Expensive trips.
Excellent if you're a solo traveler and want to party and meet people. The staff is amazing, and they can help you with anything. Very friendly atmosphere overall. Also, the pub crawls and games were loads of fun! Other than the amazing staff and the tours they have, the hostel itself is nothing special. beds aren't super comfortable and the pillow was rock hard. Very noisy at night, and people coming in and out all the time, which made if hard to sleep. Basically a friendly party hostel.
Great staff, friendly and helpful. Very social and lively atmosphere with lots of opportunity to party if you're into it. Can be noisy, but things quiet down around 11 pm. Very nice location that is close to restaurants, street food, and hostel has free walking tour each day. Would stay again
Great staff and overall experience. I really like the Vietnam backpacker chain, it's a great way to meet other travelers.
Looks like an awesome hostel, but I left very quickly as I just wasn't in the mood for a party hostel at that time.
it's a Party hostel with lots of drink promos. I think it's better if you're in a a group as its always loud so can be difficult to make new friends as a solo traveler. the castaways tour to halong bay is fantastic. and he staff are quite helpful. there's also a chill area with a decent pool table
We LOVED this hostel. Would 100% recommend it to anyone visiting Hanoi. We arrived on a Friday night, it was buzzing. Justin was great doing the Pub Quiz and drinking games to follow. We aren't normally a big fan of drinking games but Justin made it hilarious. Lien did an amazing walking tour of the city, and was so so sweet. The hostel's 5th birthday party was awesome with free beer all day! The staff are what makes this hostel stand out from the rest. They know how to throw a good party! :D
Awesome place to stay in Hanoi! The atmosphere is amazing, facilities great, and you will meet tons of people! Highly recommend
Amazing backpackers hostel, especially if you like a few drinks in the evening. Has all the facilities you could want and a good Western food menu. Extremely social with events on every night. They can also plan your whole Vietnam trip for you with tours offered to all corners.
This hostel is a lot of fun. It is very social and generally has a party going on each night. I stayed in a private room because I knew there would be some loud people in the dorms and I'm glad I did. The location is great and the food and drink specials each night are worth it. I would definitely recommend staying here.
Great hostel! The staff is very helpful when it comes to helping you plan your trip around Vietnam. The food and the drinks are great, and they offer tons of activites so its the perfect way to meet more people if you are traveling on your own.
One of my favorite hostels I have ever stayed at. Great atmosphere with a ton of travelers and great common areas. They have a bar and serve food (which is great). The dorms and bathrooms were extremely clean. While this is known as the party hostel in Vietnam, I was able to go to sleep at a reasonable time and it did not seem overly out of control or crazy. You can't beat the location as well.
The hostel is great! Has a lot of character, bathrooms are very clean, staff was super friendly. The Halong Bay tour is a bit over priced, but I would definitely stay at the Downtown Hostel again.
Great hostel. Atmosphere is amazing, but it definitely caters more to the party crowd. Staff is extremely helpful answering questions and booking trips for you. Would recommend this hostel to anyone.
Best hostel I have been to in south east Asia. hands down you should stay here, as a solo traveller so easy to meet people. only caution is go do your own tours as booking with hem is too e pensive and from what I have heard not worth it.
