Great hostel in Vila Madalena district. Very helpful staff with great atmosphere. A bit more expensive than other hostels where I've stayed in Brazil.

The owner of the hostel is very helpful.

I really liked this hostel. The owner was incredibly helpful and really made me feel welcome. He hooked me up with guest lists at the clubs and made sure I had everything I needed. I made great friends right away and enjoyed my stay in the city so much more because of them. My only issue was somebody from my room stole money from my jeans while I was sleeping right under my nose. That's not the hostels fault in any way but I would have appreciated a response when I emailed them :( still great

Very lovely hostel, located next to a good location to walk around and easy access to the parts of the city I wanted to visit. Nice breakfast and the staff were great. Knew the area well, and Vanessa was particularly helpful for us and very kind to show us how to get about. Also a young man assisted us with our early arrival of 5:30am and even let us sleep in the chilled common area. Thanks guys. Josh and nicki x

Security was lacking on the individual rooms. Keys or locks would be nice. Location is close to the bars as well as near cafes or restaurants but it's also right next to a school, so you have to do deal with screaming skids at various times during the day. Also, there was the construction of a new building across the street during my stay. Work began early and was loud. Far from metro.

Very helpful staff who tell you where to go and some tips that aren´t in the guidebook. Very clean bathrooms and bedrooms, bunks which you can actually sit up in the bottom bunk, and a decent breakfast.

Very good hostel in São Paulo which was in a safe neighbourhood. Easy to reach with the metro and a walk. The best breakfast i've ever had in a hostel.

Clean, secure and well run, Vila Madalena Hostel was a relaxing and enjoyable place to stay in Sao Paulo. Great breakfast. Staff were friendly and always happy to help, though one or two were at times a little bit eccentric. 15/20 mins of hilly walks to the metro train station. Area of the city has some fun Salsa venues, restaurants and places to get a drink.

Really great stay - I was in Sao Paulo to work but the hostel was quiet enough that I could get my work done at night. But obviously there was plenty of space to socialize and enjoy the company of others. I lived in Sao Paulo for 7 months last year and given how expensive the city is, I really don't know of any other place that is a better value. Staff was friendly, hammocks were lovely, location is excellent and the vibe is good.

This is really a nice place to stay. It is the place to stay while you visit Sao Paulo! The staff is fun and helpful in any way. No matter what you need to know or what you need. They do their best to help you with all your problems and needs. Plus, you can just fell how much they like their job. Especially the owner is just a lots of fun and really passionate about his Hostel and Brazil. The rooms are good. The bathrooms ok. But I must say I'm a little spoilt when it regarding bathrooms;-)

The staff is very nice and helpful, the location allows easy access to bus stops and subway stations, and it is very close to lots of nice bars and restaurants. Ah, the breakfast is really amazing, with fruits, juice, coffee and pastry, really above what you would normally find in a hostel. You can't go wrong with Vila Madalena Hostel.

Good things: Tulio, who gave me great tips for getting around and knows a lot about cool stuff to do in SP, and Vanessa and Valmir, both of them very friendly and with great disposition. Things I didn't like: Poor common spaces that don't help generating an atmosphere for people to meet, the asian girl at the reception that showed absolutely no interest in helping the hosts, and the thing I hated the most, the noise from the school next door that makes it impossible to sleep past 9.
