It was absolutely dirty, bathrooms were cloged, absolutely no hot water, no air conditioning (too hot to sleep), the lady in reception only speaks croatian, they only used the place for the prie and charged too much for the cervice.

The owners are the most lovely, welcoming and attentive people and the terrace is great- spacious and has beautiful views. However the hostel itself is not very clean at all, is stuffy and smells funny. We thought we'd have air con but didn't, the owner very kindly gave us a fan but it was still quite unbearable in the heat. Lots of downhill steps to old town is fine since you can get the bus back but local supermarkets and beach are a bit of an exhausting trek up lots of steps!

The hostel was up a lot of steps and about 15-20 minutes walk from the old town, however, this was definitely manageable and a lot of Dubrovnik has hills so it really wasn't that bad. Also, the hostel owner picked us up from the bus station and left us back again, which was very helpful! They also greeted us with cold juice and biscuits and were very friendly. The views were BEAUTIFUL from the room, definitely worth it. The cleanliness and the outdated facilities let it down (i.e. no air con)

The staff were very welcoming with free biscuits when we got there but the overall location is not completely ideal as you have to walk up/down a very large hill which is not fun in the heat. Also you have to pay for air conditioning so it was extremely hot during the night if you are on a budget so we were glad we were only there one night!

These are just some rooms in an old couple's house. No "hostel" infrastructure. However, given the market in Dubrovnik, this is an OK place to sleep for a couple of nights.

Good hostel and the young receptionist is very friendly and gives you cordial and biscuits when you arrive. The grandmother will hound you for money regularly when you've already paid. Lots of steps but is walking is viable.

If you are staying in a hostel you should know that it won't be the cleanest or most comfortable place. It will be hot and stuffy the bathroom will smell kind of weird and people will walk in and out of your shared room while you are sleeping, but none of this is surprising. All the facilities worked fine and there is basically everything you need. It is quite a trek from the old city / sea level, 20 mins straight up stairs so be prepared to hike and have water especially in the heat.

Fantastic views and the location is a 15 min. Walk to downtown, but these stairs and almost 'hiking' people have to do to get back to the hostel and around is crazy. The kitchen upstairs is lacking utensils, but works for whwhat you ned it to. I was picked up from the bus station initially which greatly helped.

Petra & rest of the staff are so sweet and helpful! Great location, the old town is easy to reach and they'll pick you up from the bus station. Only point of improvement is the missing A/C. Or even a fan. Now it was way too hot in the room to try to sleep. I also stayed in the same room than a bunch of British teenagers... Not ideal company.

The hostel does a lot of things really good, but some things are disapointing. The rooms are crowded and without airconditionning. My bed turned out to be on the terrace outside. Surprising, but I had a good sleep (better than inside) and woke up with a magnificent view of the bay of Dubrovnic. That alone was worth the price. If you want a cheap place and have limited options, this is fine for a night. If you want a guaranteed quality place, you're better off paying more somewhere else.

Family who ran the hostel were incredibly friendly and welcoming! Met some great people here. The walk to Old Town took about 20-25 mins but a lot longer on the way back due to lots of uphill steps, particularly if you get lost (which is fairly easily done). But, the view from my balcony was amazing :)

Greeted by a very friendly and welcoming couple bearing biccies and juice. Efficient AC was a lifesaver and we were told to help ourselves to fresh tomatoes from their very own veggie patch! All round great first impression in Dubrovnik.

We had an amazing time at Villa Banana. The host family are amazing and very friendly people - they will make you feel right at home.such genuinely nice people. The terrace out front makes for a great place to meet people at the hostel. The location was a bit hard to find when we first arrived, but look for the blue house on the street. We would definitely stay here again!

Great view and beautiful garden. The staff are also very lovely and more than happy to help. Can walk down the hill to old town easily and if you don't want to walk back up you can take a bus that runs every half an hour (only easy to take going up the hill). Will stay again if I come back to Dubrovnik. Great value for money!

When we arrived the shared kitchen had tons of gross dishes piled in it, we had to wash them in order to cook. The bathroom wasn't clean either. This hostel is also on top a large hill which was annoying to climb all the time. Wifi was also very poor.

Thr staff was super wonderful. We were picked up from the airport which eased the stress of finding the place. The location was not in close proximity to the Old Walls, but it had great view of the city.
