The hosts were amazing, they really made our stay very homely. We cooked both nights and used garlic, onions and herbs from the hostel garden. We very much enjoyed out stay here.

My bus broke down on the highway behind the hostel so I could easily walk and didn't require the free pick up from the station which I had requested. The following day I had to go to Sarajevo and reasonably asked if the free pick-up can be transferred to a free drop-off but they refused. Considering the price I would expect a little better customer service. Apart from that, you literally need a shower every time you hike up the hill.

THE YOUNG LADY IS SUPER PROFESIONAL AND CHARMING, BUT THE OLD LADY SEEMS TO BE TIRED OF PEOPLE COMMING TO HER PLACE ALL THE TIME. IT IS OK FOR THE PRICE THAT YOU PAY, I WOULD COME BACK.

This was a surprise. We were greeted by an old lady who does not speak English and seems to be talking to herself and have her own ways. Well, you get used to it and it does work somehow. We were granted a garage place for our car. Old town and supermarket within walking distance. Wi-Fi did not work at times. I'd recommend it, though.

I'm not really pleased with this hostel. The best of it is that it's kind of cheap for Dubrovnik, although i've been in much better hostels for far less money. Petra is very nice (must say). Villa Banana is not far away of the city centre, but it is situated at the top of the hill, so walking there is exhausting and sweaty. The worst part are the bathrooms... Disgusting. Recomendable for a very short stay.

Good hostel. Owners were lovely and free pick up from the bus station was appreciated. Biscuits and juice on arrival was also nice. Nice hangout area on the balcony, I had no problems with cleanliness which was mentioned in previous reviews, I thought it was fine. I would stay here again.

The staff are good and frendly except the woman, and don't speak english. Very bad wifi connection in the room. Location too far. No sheets to cover at night. Room, bathroom, kitchen and fridge is too dirty. The outdoors of the house are very nice.

It was a 15 minute walk from old town. But it's all uphill on he ay back. Toilets were disgusting. One sink as blocked and the others shower was clogged. The floors looked like they haven't been vacuumed in ages.

Absolutely great stay. Fantastic value for money and a decent communal area. Staff are extremely friendly and always willing to help. I appreciate plenty of reviews refer to the high climb from town, but its certainly worth it for the view and you soon get use to it. I would recommend getting the free pick up from the hostel when you arrive in Dubrovnik.

We had such an amazing view from our room. That was the best part. Unfortunately we didn't have air con in our room, which was not ideal as it was so hot. It is also quite far out of old town, but the view made it worth while. The girl who organised everything was very helpful, the family who ran it didn't speak a lot of english but were full of smiles and picked us up from the bus station so we didn't have to walk up the hill and have us a lift to the airport!

I think it doenst have the tipical tipical atmosphere for a hostel for backpackers...the staff is never there at the reception if you wanna ask some... and also wich was more discussting was how dirty the bathroomsbathrooms was ....and the rooms itself...

Very nice family/hosts, and not too far of a walk to old town. Room was a little hot at night, would be nice to put a fan in there to keep it cool!

The hostel owners were lovely people yet spoke little English. The bathrooms and kitchen were also quite dirty and didn't seem to get cleaned. Worth the amount you pay for it though for sure. Not bad.

It was absolutely dirty, bathrooms were cloged, absolutely no hot water, no air conditioning (too hot to sleep), the lady in reception only speaks croatian, they only used the place for the prie and charged too much for the cervice.

The owners are the most lovely, welcoming and attentive people and the terrace is great- spacious and has beautiful views. However the hostel itself is not very clean at all, is stuffy and smells funny. We thought we'd have air con but didn't, the owner very kindly gave us a fan but it was still quite unbearable in the heat. Lots of downhill steps to old town is fine since you can get the bus back but local supermarkets and beach are a bit of an exhausting trek up lots of steps!

A lot of kitchen utensils were missing, which made it difficult (but not impossible) to cook. It is not clean at all. Especially the bathroom is dirty. Especially, the price/ quality ratio is bad.

The staff, which was the family who owned the place, were very friendly! They came and picked us up from the bus station for free! Super helpful in suggesting how to get around the city, but it was only a 20 minutes walk to the old town! The kitchen was lacking sufficient amounts of plates, cups, cutlery, etc for the amount of people who were staying and using the kitchen

Staff were excellent, friendly and accomodating. Atmosphere was good, the common area was great, recommended.
