Nice but pretty boring hostel if you want to meet people. Kitchen and terass is very good. Beds are really uncomfortable though. Good hostel. Would stay here again.

The hostel was very friendly but geared towards younger travelers. The roof top terrace was definitely the highlight of the hostel because of its view and peacefulness. On a map the location of the hostel doesn't look good but in reality everything is pretty much within a 15 minute walk or less. Its only about 5 minutes from the central park in the middle of Antigua.

The hostel was nice and very laid back. I really liked the rooftop terrace with the hammocks. It would've been nice if the bar had been open more often but other than that it was overall an enjoyable experience.

Lady at reception was extremely helpful and spoke English. She even went out of her way to help us locate our lost cameras. The community kitchen was great and the rooftop deck was nice although the bar didn't open the night we were there.

Villa Esthela is situated a little far out from the square, but also in a little quiet neighborhood, a little sketchy at night from my perception. The guard the night we arrived was kind enough to upgrade us from a dormitory to a private after a 17 hour bus journey to Antigua. The place itself is clean and quiet, and has a nice upper deck with a view of the city below.

We enjoyed our stay at this hostel. The facilities were clean and fresh water always provided. The hostel was a little hard to find when we first arrived as it is off the main rd down a little alley but it was a cute little hostel and would definitely stay here again, the staff were very nice as well and were happy to organise our shuttle to san cristobal.

Good hostel, but slightly outdated and a little too far from the centre

The perfect hostel - my favourite in Antigua, and I have stayed in a good few of them. It's a little further out than some places, but as nowhere's far in Antigua this isn't an issue, and actually means it's more peaceful when quiet is what you're after. The room I had was excellent, and included a lockable cupboard. The kitchen is well equipped and genuinely usable, and there is plenty of space to store food. The roof terrace has great views and there's also places inside to chill out as well.

The roof terrace is amazing!

Such a lovely place to stay in Antigua. The staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed in a private room with comfortable beds. The bathroom was always clean. There is a kitchen too which is great if you're tired of eating out! There's also an amazing rooftop you can sit and drink overlooking the volcanoes. Overall it was a fantastic place to stay and the best hostel of our trip through Central America so far.

Single room was small but okay. Could use a better pillow and mattress, though.

I had a wonderful time at Villa Esthela! If you want a laid back atmosphere with beautiful views that's not too far from town center, this is the place for you. The staff are friendly and very accommodating. I highly recommend staying here.

The host ( Holland girl) was very helpful! The roof top is definitely a plus! However, the shower system is not that good. But for this price. I would still recommend it!

A nice place to stay. Antigua isn't a big city - so everything is in walking distance. We had a room with two beds. One was average, the other was better... But everything was clean and the staff very friendly and helpfull.
