We were 3 families travelling in the region and decided to stay in Pompeii for a week. Our teenage daughters stayed at Villa Franca while the rest of us stayed in the neighboring hotel Hotel Villa Diomede. We used to have most of our evening meals in Villa Franca. Our daughters loved their stay at Villa Franca - their room was simple, but the other dimensions of the hotel more than compensated for this - the friendlineess, the food, the warmth, the swimming pool, the honest Italian hospitality

Strange set up main place has pool and eating area, and some rooms. We stayed down the road across railway tracks in an apartment. This had large rooms a terrace, a kitchen but no fridge. It was a bit run down, paint peeling, and a bit dirty. The hot water was erratic and the toilet seemed to be on a slow fill so couldn't flush it when needed. Aircon in room. There isn't much nearby except ruins
