The hostel should be very proud . From the first moment it was like being welcomed into your family home . such a calming contrast compared with crazy Rio !

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was pretty dingy with only a small window and smelt musty. The area is nice. Not much atmosphere when I was there - there didn't seem to be many other people around.

Loved this hostel set in a antique three leveled house. The hostel sits up on the Santa Teresa hill, which is a pain to walk up, and too step for most taxis to take you up. Regardless, the views are amazing. The patio/lounge area was a great place to sit and sip on a few beers and meet other travelers. I'd recommend this place for anyone who likes climbing hills.

It was annoying that children were around in the evening and during the day. Water was dripping into my room from the ceiling when it was raining.

Just to qualify that, there was a very slight leak in the passage to the room which has since been attended to. Regarding the presence of children, I'm afraid that yes, that 'annoyance' is permitted here.
