A delightful stay at this boutique hostel! It could use a little more signage to find it - Costa Rica being somewhat bereft of street names - it was worth the search. A gem of a place, built up the side of a hill, wonderfully set up to take full advantage of the views over the mountains. The kitchen is well equipped and spacious, and the common lounges by the kitchen and top floors are inviting with breezes and hammocks, and comfy seating. Bedrooms are comfy and bathrooms functional and clean

We loved our stay at Villas Jacquelina! It is in a quiet location, a little away from the town if you don't mind a little walk down a dirt road to get there! Steve was such a chill and friendly guy. He really took good care of us. They have a pool for the kids, and a kitchen for cooking, so it is a family friendly environment. Also, upstairs is a deck, so it is smoker friendly as well. I went together with my boyfriend for a romantic get-away, and felt very comfortable at Villas Jacquelina!!

The rooms are very basic but clean. The living-area and the kitchen were excelent, the staff very friendly and helpful. For the breakfast you've got to pay extra. Over all Villas Jaquelina is overpriced.

The host, Steve, is very generous and welcoming! The facility is well kept, the eating area gives an awesome view of the mountains and valley to wake up to each morning with a delicious breakfast cooked right there. We would have felt a tad more secure knowing our screen fit better on our bedroom window, but there's always someone there so it wasn't a big deal. Definitely would recommend this place!

Pros: Beautiful views over the mountains, pool for cooling off, open kitchen, lounge area and roof top deck. We recommend the private room on top floor. Cons: Unhelpful staff. We had a few questions about transport and the local area and were told to 'google it'. Google proved to be an amazing new experience for us ;) Steve also didn't want to honor the hostelworld deposit we paid as he had already given us a discount on the private room with mattress on the floor. Overall we had a good stay.

Great hostel! Away from the busy noise of down town Quepos, but close enough to walk down and visit a cafe. Very secure rooms. Great parking. They even let me pay via PayPal. They helped me organize a bike tour on my last day.

Great hosts / extremely friendly staff. Low key and relaxing atmosphere. It's a 10 minute walk into Quepos, but you probably don't want to be staying downtown anyway. Rooms were clean and had doubles/singles available.

Great hostel, and great value! Esteban really made the experience great and you can tell that he and Yare put their hearts into this place. The only "issue" if any, is that its a bit of a walk from tiwn, but they have a shuttle that takes you down there so even that's not even close to a dealbreaker.

A very nice place, quiet, beautiful view , nice pool. You can easily walk to Quepos center.

Good staff and nice facility. A little bit of a hike to get to the beach, but honestly you don't want to be in Quepos anyways. A bit too quiet for our tastes, but all in all we would recommend it.

Nice clean rooms, beautiful view. Located down a secluded road with a little walk to Quepos but a taxi is only 3$. The only bummer was that they had advertised that there was going to be a free massage for first time guests, which was the main reason we booked here, and they didn't give us the massage because the woman that did them was sick and they didn't offer anything in its place. Other than that I would definitely recommend a stay there

No secure windows-just screens. Push lock on door. Very little privacy (see through curtains), walls were extremely thin (our room was right next to 'spa' 2 out of the 3 nights we were there, they had people until 10pm which made for unpleasant experience- no privacy). Room was not made or swept the 2nd day we were there maybe because it was Sunday?) Location is far from town centre, their 'shuttle' is calling a taxi in the morning. Breakfast and staff were very nice. Would not recommend/return

Beautiful rooms and an incredibly gracious host... The road leading to the hostel was unsigned and a bit daunting to unseasoned costa rican travellers but well worth the adventure. Massages and a delicious breakfast add to the charm. If there was an improvement to be made i would suggest a bit more security, better locks on the doors and secure windows... The privacy of the location really means that the only threat might be other guests but it would nice o have a bit more peace of mind...
