We loved our stay here. Yes, this hostel is a little off from the beach and the national park, but the bus from Quepos comes fairly often and the walk to the bus station is fairly quick. The owner can also give you a ride sometimes, if the timing works out. Breakfast was 6 USD a person, and really delicious. It was nice to be near the town and the common area was very easy going. People were friendly and relaxed, nothing too crazy. Highly recommended :)

Great atmosphere, clean bathrooms and rooms, great kitchen and patio, lovely staff, located 5 minutes outside Quepos. One iffy aspect of our stay: When we showed up the owner said that he never received our online booking and downgraded us. When we talked to other guests many of them had the exact same experience. We would definitely stay there again.

Brilliant place. Great atmosphere. Beautiful views from the upper deck. Fantastic staff who will help you with any information, tours, etc. They will make an effort to make your stay there as if you were home. The owner will make sure you feel comfortable, will give you reliable info on trips and the area. The place is somewhat of a climb with steep stairs and platforms but the beautiful views and comfy seats and hammocks will make up for that.

First, this hostel is a good mile away from anything worthwhile. Spend the extra money and stay close to the city center or stay in Manuel. Antonio. Next, the room we received was extra ordinarily stuffy. There was absolutely no circulation of any sort in the room. When we mentioned this to the hostel manager (an American man from america), he became unhappy and combatant. Finally, the rooms smell of sewage! Unfortunately, this was the low point of our trip on Costa Rica.

Beautiful hostel! Very relaxing environment with great scenery, hammocks, very clean. About a 5-10 minute or $7 cab ride to Manuel Antonio national park, all the touristy restaurants, and a 15 car ride form the beach. We preferred staying a bit outside the tourist area: the food was much better and cheaper and it was so relaxing. The owner was incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating.

The only thing that would've made our stay better was the proximity into town... but it still wasn't even bad at all. The host was extremely nice. He gave us fresh coconuts upon our arrival because we came so early and were exhausted from our travels and walking in that heat. The room was cleaned right away and was nice and cool being out of direct sun. There was a cute pool. Also... having wifi available from our room would've been nice to not get eaten by mosquitoes in common area.

Villas Jac is a great place to stay if you want to be off the beaten path in Quepos and have a friendly and welcoming place to stay. Steve and his family are warm and helpful, and the Villas themselves are clean and pretty. Ask Steve for a recommendation for dinner... you won't be disappointed!

Leaving from this wonderful hotel today and really enjoyed our stay! The hotel is situated in a quiet place, but not far from town... perfect to relax, and the owner will make you feel like at home and help you with everything you might need. We definitely recommand it!

A little pricey for the private rooms ($50 a night), and didn't feel so "private." and pretty far from the town of Quepos and Manuel Antonio (7km away), you'll have to take the shuttle and not walk, but it's cheap. The atmosphere was nice though, secluded location, and the owner was nice.
