We liked good location, stuff and price, but it was rather noisy and cold. Also our doorlock was broken, sometimes the door was opened with the wind. Breakfast was very poor.

We had a great two nights in this hostel, our room was spacious, clean and quiet, which was perfect for socialising at the sister hostel and then sleeping here.. The location was great, right in the old town, and the staff were very helpful, telling us where we should explore, eat and so forth, they just made one blunder with trying to get a taxi for us at 6:30am causing a stressful sprint to the old town gates. The breakfast also was a little mediocre but still adequate. Overall it was great!

Being one of two guests and renovation works is probably not ideal. I can see how the place could be great with more life in it. Still, it's awesome if you want to relax a bit. For partying, simply join the sister hostel Tallinn Backpackers and do it there. It was a bit annoying that I mentioned the first day, that the light doesn't work in my room. Well, nothing happened. Otherwise, staff was helpful and fun!

The doors are thin as paper, so if somebody noisy outside, you will hear it, but its a really good Hostel.

nice & cosy place except the rooms without windows.right in the center but still quiet, not a party hostel, lot of stairs and lift not working, breakfast is poor, safety could be better ( front door is never locked, no safes available) clean and cheap

It was easy to find out where the room keys were kept, which is a security risk. The baggage was left in the staff room while we waited for our room to be ready, which was not locked or watched for some periods during our stay. The staff had an irritating habit of not letting people in when they rang the outside bell at the gate. It took us an hour to get in. We heard other people complaining of the same issue. Otherwise they were friendly and informal. Other than this it was very good.

One of the best hostel I have ever been, located in the very center of Tallin's olf town, is located next to all the town's party. Very nice backpackers atmosphere.

The atmosphere was really domestic. A bigger sign might be necessary outside the building. The staff was really helpful and kind. People coming back in the middle of the night were too noisy and totally disrespectful of the rules.

First they gave us a room damaged by water, therefore there were a lot mold spores on the wall. It was ugly. We asked for another room. The other room was very nice, big, clean with own bathroom. But the bed was broken. So we could not sleep the first night. We repaired it ourselves for the next night - than it was ok. There was also nothing really fixed on the wall in the bathroom - everything was shaky. So you should have a screwdriver with you. But the hostel is really really central. So it w

The Viru hostel is actually a separate building from the Tallinn Backpackers, and it does not have any bar. But the 2 hostels are "sister hostels", so you can drop in if you want to have fun. The Viru hostel was great, located in the heart of the old city, well secured, clean and calm.

I had a great stay at Viru Backpackers. The location is great! I prefered the sisterhostel Tallinn Backpackers, though. Just because it was more lively. I had best of both. My own room at Viru Backpackers and partying at Tallinn Backpackers.
