I really enjoyed my stay at Vita Nova. You can't beat living on a boat while in Amsterdam! I stayed in a private room and while very small, it was fairly comfortable and sufficient for one. The boat is centrally located in the stunning Oosterdok which made getting around easy, and the included full Dutch buffet breakfast is fantastic - multiple kinds of cheeses, meats, juices etc. The showers aren't that great and WiFi is intermittent, but it is a boat and not a house. Definitely recommended.

It would have been nice if there were a closet or separate room for luggage storage. I know why there is no showering after 11, but it made it very hard to stay.

very good experience. The location is not far from the central station and people on the boat are very friendly and kind.

I loved the boat! It gives you a different perspective on the city and it was so fun to take advantagne of that part of the city and culture of amsterdam. The staff was a little sassy but it was funny and they were very helpful. The breakfast was just cereal, toast, and things like that; but any free breakfast is good breakfast! small rooms and bathrooms but it's a hostel, get over it. I loved it, i would def go back.

4th time staying here, for me all I want is a private room close to everything and cheap. This place is perfect, clean, nice staff, and most importantly affordable!

We did enjoy our stay. Roy makes a mean breakfast. The bar prices were excellent . The cleaning standard was good, and the heating was very comfortable.

It was a pleasant stay although my travel partners who are 6 feet tall found it a bit small and difficult to move around in the tiny cabins and small beds, it is a boat thus was expected. Roy was nice and there was hot water all the time.

A hostel on a boat is a very charming way to stay. There was a cozy atmosphere in the common room and Roy was always there for help or for a chat. I appreciated the computer in the common room with internet access to be used by the quests.

The cabin was a bit cramped, but we still had fun. Nice, hot showers and quiet nights. It's a little out of the way, but also close to the train stattion, which we liked. Overall, I'd recommend it.

poor security! main door broke 24 hr opened and smashing throughout the night! doors are fragile. thin door which was so noisy. nasty and old room. only one unfriendly staff giggles and mock when you ask. Dirty toilet and shower. Weak and broke shower, you won't be able to get correct temperature of water! one shower room for 40+ guests. shower after 10:30pm not allowed! no hot water in the room. old nasty water tube, 2 euro per small bottled water. no stores around. not worth the money at all!

I think staying on a boat is definitely a good experience. At first we had our doubts but it was fun and although the rooms were small, it was still cozy and we slept well and it was always heated properly. I have read many reviews that the included breakfast was fantastic but personally I was a little disappointed by it. but still it was no big deal cause overall the whole stay was good.
