Good: - Very friendly and helpful owner! We had trouble with the luggage and he helped us a lot, called a couple of times and even drove me back to the airport. He also helped with how to enjoy carnival the most and how to get to the city,... Thanks Rupi! - Very nice breakfast - Big room - It's not really in Salvador but it's in a nice town outside the big city. It's just one bus ride away. - Wifi Bad: - The typical brasilian things: not a hot shower, bed made a lot of noise,...

The host is honest, friendly and helpful. It's near from international airport. The internet is fast. The room is very large. I think the hotel is ideal place to stay in Salvador.

My girlfriend and I recently stayed at Viva Bahia for several days leading up to and during Carnival. It was phenomenal! I booked it without checking the location so I was surprised to find that it was 27 km outside of the city center. Do NOT let this worry you. It is easy to catch buses and is the same cost as going anywhere out. There is a major bus stop nearby and you get great restaurants, better beaches and MUCH more value for your money. The owner is great, super friendly and helpful.

Spacious apartment, flexible friendly helpful owner, good location in Itapuan outside Salvador downtown, reasonably priced. no TV

Although Itapua is far from the city center it is an enjoyable area to stay if you expect to see nice beaches and discover a village atmosphere in a capital. The guest is friendly, and the house spacious but the bed really deserves a new mattress...

A good option if you want to stay a bit away from the chaos of the centre. Itapoã is at 50-60 min. by bus from Pelourinho. Stayed there for three nights, glad to have lived a bit the real afro-brasilian daylife far from touristic borroughs. Rupi and Barbara are very helpful and fiendly. Fine breakfast. Plenty of private space, safe and quiet apartment, even if without door separating from upper premises; we only had loud music on Tuesday night from a near terrace. Cloth hand-washing facility.

Viva Bahia is like staying at friends. The host can speak very good englisch and is willing to tell you al the things you want to know. You have a lot of space, and a lot of privacy. It's a very good place to stay if you like rest and peace. Do you want to party, go and look for another place, Viva Bahia is not for you! Viva Bahia is lokated in Itapua, about 26 km (up to 1,5 hour with the bus) from the center of Salvador, but you can walk to the beach and there are some nice shops nearby.
