Great location in Waikiki. Minutes to the beach, main streets, buses, shops, etc. The rooms are fine with a bathroom, sink and fridge. Communal kitchen and lounge area too. My only beef with the place is there are no lockers to store your valuables. But you can leave stuff in the front office with the staff. They were friendly and helpful.

The office/front desk looks like a laundry but it's ok. The hostel is very well located, it's just a few blocks from the beach. The rooms are not so clean. It's easy to find small cockroachs in your room. Maybe they should call pest control.

The rooms are small and there isn't a large area to socialize or meet new people. That being said I had a wonderful time. The staff was super accommodating and friendly and my roommates were so amazing that the right space wasn't an issue at all. I think it all depends on who you get roomed with and how willing you are to put yourself out there and initiate conversation. The people are quite friendly. I was very happy there. The in room kitchens were great and the facilities are very clean. And

1st time staying in a hostel. Ive heard both aweful and awesome things about the experience. For me It was great! I don't know if hosteling is easier than I'd heard, or if I just stayed in a really great hostel? Probably both. Staff was SUPER friendly, chill, & accommodating. Location couldn't have been better (2 tiny blocks to Waikiki beach)! Very clean rooms. No spot in rooms to lock up valuables but I still felt really safe leaving my stuff in the room. Thanks WBH for a great fist experience!

not a bad hostel just a few minor problems like the common area very small and had to be shut at 11pm due to noise curfews

Nice staff, clean beds, good facilities. Only complaint is that I wish there were lockers available for my stuff. Nothing was stolen, but you never know who your room mates will be at any given stay.

Sure this place is Waikiki and its all about relaxing and it had the chilled out vibe. But the dude at the Check In was soooo slow at the process, getting distracted by people talking about dinner. They took a key deposit, he said i'd get it back when i checked out. I asked him to book me a shuttle van for 7am, and he didnt tell me reception wouldnt be open at that time to check out...i left a note with the key. Van never came either! No lockers either. Glad it was only one night i had to stay.

I recently stayed at the Waikiki Backpackers for over 5 days. As this was my first time staying at a hostel, I didn't really know what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. The hostel manager, Jesse, was very accommodating to all my needs and made sure I was comfortable every day of my stay . The location, staff and overall vibe of this place are incredible. I strongly recommend this hostel and I am not one write reviews for anything.

A friend booked this hostel for 1mt as the angency in Switzerland told her that it's not possible to find her a host family. On her first day at school she asked again and they told her that she could move to a family immediately. (she's been at the backpackers for 3 nights) We've been aware that the policy sais that a cancellation needs to be done 24h prior BUT they got money for her bed twice which is NOT acceptable-she's been asking for at least 2weeks of the money back-they didnt even answer

I thought this hostel was great, the staff was very helpful and welcoming. Free breakfast and free wifi everday was wonderful. Free beer nights are wonderful if you're 21, I'll definitely make sure I make it back there when I am. Rooms were great I stayed in a 6 person dorm and it was almost like a miniature apartment with our own microwave and fridge along with bathroom and shower within room. Without a doubt a great hostel to stay at!

Very good hostel. Absolutely amazing staff and organized activities. A very good choice if you're a solo traveler looking to meet people, although the hostel is not that big and the yard is small. Rooms/beds are good. I put average for security because they could tell or put a sign to warn people that the doors do not lock automatically upon closing them: my room's door was left constantly unlocked. Also: no individual lockers, but if you ask they can keep your stuff locked in their office.

Was a decent enough hostel, Rooms are a bit on the small side but nothing you cant handle! shower in room 10 was very bad.and ran out of toilet paper a few times! very hard to keep a hostel which is near the beach clean so i can excuse it being a little dirty! Wifi worked well and could get in the room! staff were good and the location was good enough being close to the beach! Would stay again!

This place was okay for one night, but wouldn't have wanted to stay longer. We had cockroaches in our room and it felt dirty. There wasn't a very good hang-out area, just the kitchen and the office. The staff were okay, but seemed more interested in planning their night out with their buddies than checking us in to our room. The place is overpriced - but not unusual for that area. The upside is the location - very close to the beach and the center of Waikiki.

Great location, really near beach. Friednly staff. We were able to use the hostel and store our bags on the day we left as we were not catching a flight until evening. The double room smelt a bit damp and we would have liked a blanket or two as well as just pillows and sheets, but otherwise everything else was fine.

This was an awesome hostel to stay at. The staff and people staying there made me feel at home and the little extra things they did for us were greatly appreciated.

Front desk was extremely unwelcoming, unclear, didn't give/tell us about second room key for gate. Bathroom was gross and dirty and I've travelled all over Asia and Europe.
