Loved it. Friendly staff, close to the beach, very mellow but always someone kicking around to have a beer with. Definitely would stay again.

We liked the place very much, close to the beach, bars and stores, nice staff and a really sweet room. Our room had 3 beds, bathroom with toilet and shower, refrigirator and small kitchen with basic stuff, there were no material to make anything at the kitchen like plates and glases though. They had free breakfast, continental, and some nice beer and pizza nights aswell! Ive stayed at some hostels in my time and this was really a place Id go back to and recomend to others.

They just moved so this place was not as expected (as the photos on the website when i made the reservation) and when decided to move away the owner (or Manager, Idk exactly) was very hostile about accepting this decision and gave us a really hard time, being rude and not listening. It was really hard to have a conversation with him. We had a problems at our bedroom with the electricity falling and turning down the shower and fridge. The place is clean, the location is great.

In all my 21 years of traveling in hostels this place the most wonderful place to stay, 1 minute from one of the most beautiful beaches in the world, the hotels right next to you are paying roof and rent for the priverlidge.Charles the boss is the most wonderful conscientious persons, he really looks after you,

first we were very confused - as they changed the location. just saw right now that they corrected the adress now in hostelworld but still have the wrong pictures on their profile here. but after we got finally our room - very big and really very nice room with a brandnew bed :), own toilet/shower and kitchenette - we just loved this place!! the location is just perfect, about not even 5 minutes walk to the waikiki beach but still it is a quite place! and charles the owner is just fabulous!

The staff seemed to either have no idea what they were doing or simply not be around. Their claim of having 'Free Wi-Fi' is only applicable to one quarter of the rooms available. There was no social atmosphere and the staff recommendations for a good night out were terrible. Nothing honestly terrible just didn't at all live up to the expectations or the name penthouse.

They have a new location which is few minutes’ walk from a beach. Bit hard to find, as there is not sign to see from street. Rooms have A/C and are super clean, quiet, only 4 beds in dorm, has kitchen, fridge and great bathroom too. No lockers in room, but each locks with a key. Breakfast is nice and staff cool. Common area is very small, so if you want to party place this might not be it. If you want to stay at calm place and not bother about meeting new people, this is your place to be.

Best hostel I stayed at in Waikiki by a mile. The same guy runs the hilo backpackers hostel and both were excellent.

I thought fo being a hostel it was very good, but considering it was a hotel the cleanliness was very poor and it missed a few of the things a hotel should have, like a phone in the rooms. Staff was friendly and helpful and I sure woul recomend it to other travelers since its good value for what you pay!

OK, booking via hostelworld is the easiest way to book as on phone they don't know if they have beds free or not??? They have no reception, you call from a hotel and are basically staying in a shared hotel room. Hence, cleanliness is good as cleaned by the hotel staff. The staff from the hostel are very friendly and good - BUT they are all unpaid volunteers. To go into the lounge, you have to ring and be escorted up... very inconvenient. Better hostels on lemon street. Manager here EXTREMELY RUDE

It was weird staying at a hotel that was booked through the hostel, but it was nice to have a secure room and a bathroom in the room. The facilities were clean and usable and the staff at both the hostel and the hotel were friendly and helpful. It was worth the value for its close proximity to the beach and the shops of Waikiki.

Even though the facilities were very nice and clean, the set-up of this hostel is quite unique and a little awkward. The common area and kitchen are upstairs in one hotel (you need to be escorted up the elevator because you need a key, this makes it very safe) but the rooms where you actually sleep are in another hotel just two buildings over. It works fine and is worth the money, just a little awkward.

The room I stayed in consisted of two blow up mattresses and a sofa bed. The sofa bed mattress was merely spring coils covered with material. I felt like I had coil imprints on my body the next day. Accessing the place is a bit difficult, with the need to call reception from the hotel two doors away. Besides this, it's in a great location and the staff are very helpful and friendly.

This was a good hostel. We got a great room in the hotel with our own kitchen which was fantastic. The only issue we had with this hostel was the fact that we couldn't get into the common room without having to call the super to come down to the bottom of the hostel and let us in

Aside from a minor confusion about a room change, our stay at this hostel were convenient and pleasant. I\'d return and recommend it to others.

This is the best hostel in Waikiki, the location is excellent, some have commented about having to go between two hotels, but I did not find this to be any problem. You are staying in a hotel room, sharing with 2 others, when you want to go to the common area , you just call ahead to be meet, really not a problem. The staff is excellent and pizza & beer nights are great.

Seaside hostel is a great hostel, but backpackers penthouse is even greater. Do yourself a favor and choose this hostel if visiting Waikiki.
