Pros- nice simple breaky, clean rooms, aircon (though noisy), excellent driver organised by the hotel, very close to Egpytian museum, cheap airport transfer, friendly staff. Cons- noisy location not near much of interest, had to change rooms after one night, have to pay for internet. Overall- we recommend this place.

We really enjoyed our stay in Wake Up Hostel. The staff is superfriendly, the rooms are clean and the location is perfect (next to egyptian museum and Tarir-Square). Two negativ points: The hostel is a little bit difficult to find, because it is insied of a scyscraper, but theres no sign outside. (we searched for one our to find it) The whole building is very old and the elevator hardly worksn (and the staircases are horrible) but apart from this, the hostel is excellent!!!

Hi All, Just got back from a 5 days in Cairo and stayed at this warm and friendly place. The facility was very clean and staff was extremely friendly and did their best to meet all my needs. Hassan(0wner) greeted me on arrival and helped me plan an awesome trip around Egypt and for great prices. The Cario museum is a few blocks away. Initially i was scared bcause of news on tv.. However walking Cario by myself I never once felt unsafe. Loved this place and cannot wait to go back!!!

Great hostel, really close to the Egyptian museum. I don't usually organize tours however we organised a day-long taxi with the hostel, who quoted a really great price - we only had one full day in Cairo but were able to pack heaps in due to the assistance of the hostel owners. There's yummy cheap local food around the hostel, and the rooms were clean, with hot showers externally. The airport pick up was on time, and friendly, and the drop off rate was very fair. Fantastic place

Clean, bright, secure and friendly hostel right in the heart of Cairo. I was worried about proximity to Tahrir Square, but it was very safe when I was there. Most of the staff are very friendly, helpful and professional and have lots of good suggestions for what to do and where to go

Outstanding assistance by staff. They were able to book tours and transportation between cities where they were NOT located for the cheapest price. Also provided tours within Cairo and had warnings provided about all the places and people that will rip you off. Made everything easy. Location was great and very clean. Loved it.

friendly staff, lots of useful information.clean rooms but: we booked a tour to the pyramids with them. before gize they offered us a camel ride for 480egp=>60euros telling us it was a 12km walk to see everything.we didnt take it and found it was actually more like 5km (to walk around the pyramids, the sphynx, onto the scenic lookout point and back) and camels rides are available from 20EGP inside the area. except for this the tour was very good, just be careful!

Wakeup was great to stay at. I arrived without a good plan. The owner sat down with me and helped put a good tour together. The tour took a lot of the thinking out of traveling and really allowed me to enjoy my time here. The guides are great and very informative. The entire staff is real friendly and helpful, plus everyone is really doing their best to make sure you enjoy Egypt. I can't recommend Wakeup enough. Also when traveling in Egypt you feel very safe despite what the media says
