Wake Up! Sydney Central was rated the most popular in Sydney at the 2011 Hoscars and it's no wonder - this hostel is located just next to the Central Station, near Paddy's Market and Chinatown and a short walk from Darling Harbour. Travellers tell us they appreciate the hostel's 'very engaging community', with staff who 'are super friendly and go out of their way to accommodate you', hosting parties and events every day. We like their attention to little details, providing rare extras such as an on-site ATM as well as hooks and shelves in the showers.

Wakeup! Sydney Central represents all that Sydney has to offer. It's modern, it's clean and it’s the hub of backpacker activity, right in the heart of Sydney. With a fresh layout, friendly staff and funky activities, WakeUp is the backpacker place to be!
We’re located opposite Central Station and this is also the first shuttle bus stop from the airport. We’re within walking distance of some of Sydney's main attractions; a few minutes from Chinatown, a 15-minute stroll from Darling Harbour and Sydney Aquarium, 20 minutes from Sydney Sky Tower and a 30-minute walk from the Opera House, Harbour Bridge and Circular Quay. Talk about convenient!
What's on at WakeUp!?
Mondays we have a free city orientation tour with one of our knowledgeable team, taking in China Town, Circular Quay, the Botanic Gardens and more!
Tuesdays there’s Trivia Madness with bar tabs, prizes and a lot of laughs.
Wednesdays we put on a free beach tour, taking you from Coogee to Bondi along Sydney's spectacular coastline.
Fridays are for our free city orientation tour...we can't have you getting lost just because you weren't here on Monday!
And all week you can enjoy cheap meals, drink specials, bands, DJs and great times at Sydney's best and busiest backpacker bar, the Side Bar!
Our hostel offers more than just accommodation - we offer a defining era of your travels. We have mixed or all-female dormitory-style accommodation as well as private rooms with and without en suite. Whether you’re a budget-conscious traveller or you’re after a little luxury, we've got you covered.
Our Travel And Information desk has all the essential information and advice on finding jobs and the like, as well as being able to book you on tours - we really are your one-stop-shop!
We have 24-hour reception, 24-hour internet access, a café and a restaurant. We also have our very own licensed bar - Side Bar - famous for outrageous parties!

We offer easy access to all of Sydney's main attractions. I recommend taking the short bus ride to the Opera House and Harbour Bridge, or over to Bondi Beach.
We cater mainly to 18-30-year-old travellers on a budget but all adults are welcome and we do cater for people with special needs or disabilities. Unfortunately, we don't have facilities suitable for children.- Neil Smith, General Manager

It was a friendly atmosphere and had all your needs in one place. There was a bar in the basement that allowed you to go out and have fun after a long day of being out in the city. Sometimes you just don't want to travel far when you are already tired.

Please note that Wakeup has a 48 hour cancellation policy on all bookings except those between 27 Dec and 3 Jan. During this special period bookings need to be prepaid and are not refundable or transferable.
