Wake Up! is a great hostel with a couple flaws: No free internet. This is really frustrating on a tight budget. On the other hand, since people aren't on the net 24/7, it's a bit faster than the free internet at other hostels. There are no water fountains anywhere in the building. If you need water, either to quench your thirst or to fill a water bottle, you have to either buy a $3 bottle from the vending machines or see if the cafe will fill your personal bottle. Otherwise, it's great!

Really enjoyed my stay. Security was topnotch with special cards to ensure no one got where they were not supposed to go. Did feel that the music was a bit too loud in kitchen and internet areas. Staff was very helpful and they stored my luggage on last day so I could explore Sydney as my flight was not until late evening, even got shuttle to airport for $14, which was right from door of hostel.

Best Backpackers I ever been in Australia, nothing to really complain about! Really clean, lot of space (8 people room), excellent location, Shower and toilet are clean too. Perhaps the kitchen is a bit tiny, but not a big deal.

That's a big hostel but it deserves good notation because staff is cool, cleanliness is faultless, lots of activities(city tour, and live music in the hostel bar, sports...) but don't go there for internet (too expensive).

The hostel is really good, the room was great and clean, the location is central, it takes 3 mins to get to the central station and 10 mins to go to the city centre. There are many activities scheduled and theres a club in the basement popular all over sydney. It's really good but also expensive. The staff is really great and good looking as well. The only drawback is that washrooms are shared with all the rooms on the floor so sometimes they arent always really clean, but its acceptable

Great hostel. Really close to Sydney's Central Station. The staff is really helpfull and you can ask them anything. The only thing which anoyed me is the ammount of money I had to pay for the WiFi. 40 dollars for a week!

The liens were not clean at all as there was hair on it. I asked the staff how I can plan my trip in Sydney as I was staying for two days n he couldn't give me much comments - only said " oh yea you can do that" but to be fair , perhaps because he is a local so that he doesn't really know what a tourist wants? The location was so so as the main shopping area was at town hall station. Yet it's not bad if you are planning to cath a fight at the airport because you don't need to change trains.

Good hostel, but 10 dollars more than other hostels. Was a "cool" place, but the staff was almost too cool for themselves. When I asked for something, I got a short answer and then they started helping the next person in line. And it was like this with maybe 3 or 4 of the staff-members. And it cost money to leave the luggage in the reception for a couple of hours from checkout until my flight, I mean, come on! I know Oz is expensive, but I think its hard to be a backpacker in this hostel.

I stayed here on my own in a double room (shared bathroom) while in Sydney for work. Staff were friendly, room was basic but clean and comfortable and also had tv, shared facilities were clean and modern and showers were great, plus the location is great - I walked into the city or walked across the road to central station (which connects everywhere). Only complaint is that the room doors shut rather loudly so can be a bit disturbing around check out time. But would definitely stay here again!
