Hostel was good! Although it takes ages to walk to the opera house (30 mins ish) the train station is right across the road! Would REALLY recommend the travel shop in the hostel, Charleen helped us book pretty much our whole trip. She's fab, SO helpful even though it was really busy! Would definitely recommend this place!
Big hostel, great vibe, center of the city.
Quieter hostel than Id been told (not a bad thing at all!) good balance between socialising/getting rest. Brilliant location right by central station.
Very good looking place. Must be an absolute heaven for younger (18-20) travellers. Nice and spacious rooms and very professionally run promo/marketing.
I stayed here for 4 nights and had a good stay overall. Pretty expensive for what you get but that's quite common in Sydney I think. We stayed in a 6 bed dorm which should have been a room for 4, it was so small! We hardly had any space to put our things. The Wifi (which costs $6 a day) is ridiculously slow! Kitchen/tv area is a good place to hang out but the tv area definitely needs to be bigger.
Total party hostel - so many schoolies and bus loads of tours and the bar downstairs makes this hostel best for the 18-22 or big party group. Double private room was small and stark and NOISY - and bathroom was far down the hall and always soaked. Nice to have Roy's coffee shop on premise, but overall just exhausting and happy to leave.
Stayed for 4 days and could have stayed forever. Was lots of fun and great activities and things to do! Was always a group or activity to join in on. Great place to meet people and join other activities. Very clean and accommodations were great, I have no complaints. Would definitely recommend and would stay there again.
Wake up! is a cool place and ideal for those who want to party and have access to a lot of activities. If this is not something that appeals to you, I would suggest finding somewhere more quiet. I had fun, but it def felt like freshmen year of university again.
Great sociable hostel with all the facilities you need. Some Rooms have been refurbished with personal lights and charging points, these are much better! Good location opposite central station and easy to get to bondi, coogee and the harbour.
I only stayed there for one night, so I really can't say that much. It's maybe a bit pricier than other hostels, but I think it's worth the money. The rooms had a good size and were tidy. It's right next to Central Station, so it's very easy to get to it. But, maybe its a bit further away from the tourist spots. Also, the toilets and showers weren't that super clean, but I guess this is the fault of those who used them (and didn't flush afterwards, for example), and the WiFi is expensive!
All is perfect, trys this hostel and u will like it
Really enjoyed my stay at Wake Up! It's close to everything. The guided city tour on Fridays and Wednesday's are highly recommended! But, for the price they should include som kind of breakfast even if it's a really simple one.
This place was a lot of fun. The cafe and bar downstairs made it easy to meet people. It's downtown and easy to find. And the staff are very eager (perhaps sometimes a little too eager) to organize events. Had to pay for wifi, but the price wasn't too terrible. Complaints: the "security" aspect is a little overdone. They seriously need to allow guests to use the staircase. Also, the lockers are oddly shaped. I get that they want to look trendy and all, but big box shapes work better.
Brilliant location and great friendly atmosphere! Always lots going on so it's very easy to meet other people! One negative is that it can be quite noisey at night due to the bar situated underneath the hostel! But overall an excellent hostel with lots of freebies and acitivites
Great place to stay. They really try to get the best out of your trip. Other than other hostels I've been they really organize something quite every day!
Good, clean hostel. Better quality furnishings and facilities than the majority of hostels. My only negative comment is that some of my possessions went missing during a 'big weekly clean' of the dorm I was staying in. To be fair I did leave them lying on the floor, so I suspect the cleaners moved them to a storage room. However when I questioned this at reception, I was told the belongings could not be found, so I suppose they just mysteriously vanished in to the ether.
The bathrooms were really clean, which was one of my main concerns! They have something going on evey night of the week and I wished I could have stayed longer so I could check them all out. If I'm ever back in Sydney I'll definitely be staying there. The staff was amazingly friendly! Even the people that had to be there in the middle of the night. Luckily I had some pretty cool roommates and over all I can't think of anything to complain about. I had an awesome stay!

-tower rental info should be given when check in -noise control/insulation quite poor, as we can hear people talking & TV sounds at night -i like the non-alcohol in room policy but i noticed many people ignore that. must reinforce that. -i understood the reason but the min 7 days stay during new year period will put people off ? we paid for 7 nights but stay 6 nights only.
