Liked sound insulated walls from loud music downstairs which allowed travellers a peaceful nights sleep. Spacious rooms with no real overcrowding. Clean and comfortable with well regulated cooling overnight and use of key card for added security. Central to town, Darling Harbour and Central Stn. Airport Shuttle bus to front door. Staff deal postively with a variety of queries and people from all walks of life and differing nationalities.

Location of hostel is very good, close to the trainstation. We had a clean private room. Ridiculous that you have to pay for the internet, should be for free

Wake Up! Sydney Central is a clean and fun hostel in an excellent location right next to the Central Station, but it's starting to show its age (it opened its doors in 2002-03). My key card had to be re-swiped twice in just one day because it re-setted itself, so a word to the wise: wear something more than a towel when you take a shower, as you may need a detour to the reception downstairs afterwards! They've also expanded the dining area of the kitchen: maybe they can improve the kitchen next?

The only bad point I see is the elevators, which are a real pain to use. Please allow acces to the stairs at least !

It's a decent hostel to stay and because of the location it is easy to get around. A couple of concerns though, kitchen is way too small for the amount of people that are staying and prices for things such as internet are ridiculous. If you need this people, go around the corner to wicked travel or peterpans and you have free internet as much as you want :)

There was a five year old and her mom in our mixed double. Very awkward. Aside from that it was an enjoyable time. Several people complained that people stole things, but they were things that were left out. The lockers aren't that big though.

This is a BIG hostel! It was kept very clean and staff on reception were frendly and helpful. Was expecting to be kept awake with people coming back at night but room was surprisingly quiet. Only complaint is the very poorly equipped kitchen - it's far too small for the 500+ guests and impossible to cook in. A quieter area to watch tv would also be good rather than next to the noisy kitchen.

Good location, environment ,great party! The only and most important shortage is that after I check-out they charge me extra 54au dollar from my credit card without my agree.when I asked reception,he didn't say sorry or explain it. So be careful when you use credit card to pay rent! After you check-out next day, check your account again!

Perfect location and very clean. nice big dorms and good tv room. Extremely expensive wifi, air con fixed to a freezing temperature. Only lift and no stairs which was bad, only one small kitchen was not enough for the amount of people that stayed in such a a big hostel

Huge Sydney hostel. Nice large dorms. Kitchen and common areas way too small a hostel of this size. WiFi is very overpriced. Bar is good though and atmosphere is nice. Possibly the best lift music of any hostel in Sydney....which is fortunate as theres no stairs so you spend way too long waiting for, and in, lists at Wake Up! Good for security, not good for convenience. Brilliant location next to central station.

It was a good hostel but everyone in our room got told they didn't pay so we had to go to reception but we all had this happened about 4 days on the run. Just seemed very unorganised for a big hostel.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to leave us feedback, it's always much appreciated! We usually pride ourselves in our accuracy on all matters regarding administration. All accommodation is pre-paid at our hostel and I believe there was some confusion with a guest staying in your dorm. Please accept our deepest apologies that you had to bear witness. We hope to see you again next time!

Having traveled a lot, this place is the best I've ever stayed in. Perfect central location, fun atmosphere and excellent water pressure in the showers! Great stuff. Great value for money.

Great hostel! This is my second time staying here, and I've been very pleased both times. Great location, right across from Central Station but also within walking distance from Darling Harbour and other places in Sydney! Would highly recommend staying here if you're visiting Sydney!
