This hostel is way to big, it houses over 500 people over 7 levels and for someone whos travelling and wants to meet people its not so easy and you tend to hang around with the people in your room. Also it seemed as if everyone was a long term stayer! Very expensive and hostel over charges for everything including a massive amount for using wifi! For 24 hr access its $20!! It absolutely no way costs wake up that amount of money to run wifi considering if everyone buys that amount! Wont go back!

Really good except checking out was a 25min wait so should have had more staff on. There is no other way to get between floors and the lifts are really slow so that's painful - other than that really great !!!

My stay was great. The only thing I wish I would have had, was ear plugs, due to the fact that people come into the rooms at all hours of the morning.

Didn't stayed there for long, (few hours before leaving Australia) but all the access is controlled, I couldn't take advantage of all the facilities, but I would go there again if I needed.

Very clean and upmarket with great facilities - good beds, bathrooms, lockers etc. It's all 5-star and well located. However, I'd prefer not to stay here again because of the basic inconvenience of getting to and from the rooms: lifts take a long time (there's a bench to sit on while you wait!) and the stairs are not an option because the doors don't open from inside the stairwell. And like any very big hostel, the atmosphere is impersonal; maybe not the best place for meeting other travellers.

I had a lovely time at Wake Up! Sydney Central. I stayed in a family room for my first 2 nights and in a 6 female dorm for 1 night. The staff are polite and helpful. The bathrooms were reasonably clean. I wasn't too happy with the vending machine though... it ate up my money!! The kitchen is big with several fridges and lots of shelves. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely be staying here again when I come back to Sydney.

It´s an excelent building (new and clean), but very, very expensive, you have to pay for everything (Internet, breakfast...) and I think most of the backpackers can´t afford a place like this... The worst: the arrogant staff.

The location is excellent, being so close to the trains, but there are heaps of hostels in the same area. I was there for a weekend to go to the V8s, so wanted a bed more than a party or meeting tons of new people. The staff's friendliness seems to be directly connected to your age and the length of your skirt. In other words, I couldn't even hire a towel with any sort of friendliness. The walls are paper thin, and people spent most of the night bashing on the doors and hallway walls.

I doubt you can find a hostel so similar to a hotel to stay. I had a very good experience. The bnd ar downstairas is very good and has good food at good prices! Good kitchen

As every BIG hostel bar is a place to meet people. Finn at the reception was really nice and try his best to make sure me and my friend could stay in one room. Though other staff members sometimes looked that they can't be bother by answering questions. All in all it's a good party hostel with hudge rooms and excellent cleanliness ;)

I was greeted by very friendly staff. Unfortunately I found the other guests to be very rude and no one really spoke to me. I checked out after 1 night of my 2 night stay.

not enough lighting in the hallway and women's toilet on the 6th floor. It felt like one of those bathrooms in horror movies where someone's going to come around and get you.

Due to incompetent staff we missed our shuttle to the airport ("driving all day long" but in fact not after 8pm). In our dorm roon slept a lot of people illigally on the floor. Expensive wifi. Too crowded and very loud even after midnight. Never again!

I think there were to many people when everybody had to use the same two elevators... if it was possible to use the stairs that would have been great... Otherwise I think it was a fine hostel... a bit expensive, but I imagine all Australian hostels are :)
