Excellent stay, good for parties and good people, but only one shower for too many people!

We loved this hostel! It was in a great location, a short walk from the beach plus near plenty of restaurants and good transport links. The staff are absolutely brilliant - they really go out of their way to be friendly and helpful, including helping us fix our camera's broken memory card! There's a nice atmosphere in the hostel and we met lots of other travellers in the bar over a caipirinha at the end of a busy day. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon!

Amazing staff. Very friendly and helpful. The entire hostel is cleaned at least once a day. Very good place to meet other travelers. Location is unbeatable: 5 min walk to copacabanna beach and only 10-15 to ipanema.

Friendly warming place

Very cool hostel, great location to go to copacapana, literally 5 min walk. Super nice people, always willing to help and welcome you with a smile everytime you walk through the door. Domenique, one of the bar guys deffo knows how to entertain his guests when sticking for a night at the bar!:)

We loved our time at WalkontheBeach. The staff & guests felt like family to us. The staff was helpful in recommending tours to us and helping us plan our days. The guests were friendly and we enjoyed ou times hanging in the lobby. The breakfast was great with the ham/cheese sandwiches & cake. My only complaint about the rooms was that it was cold at night because people kept turning on the fan...but just ask for some extra blankets. Thank you for making the last stop of our trip a great one!

Best hostel i´ve stayed in! great location very near copacabana beach and easy walking distance to ipanema. Such friendly and helpful staff -they really get to know everyone staying there a create a really fun and sociable atmosphere. they give you lots of advice on where to visit, good tours, local restaurants and recommend good nights out. we went away for a few days to ilha grande and were welcomed back like old friends on our return!

This was my first stay ever in a hostel and it was great. The place was super safe and clean. I was traveling alone and it was a great place to meet people with the bar upstairs and the organized events you can sign up for through the hostel and I was able to book a tour through them which I would definitely recommend doing since it was totally worth every penny. The area is safe and literally like a 5min walk to the beach. The staff was really awesome and helpful as well.

It's hard to imagine staff that is more familiar, helpful and skilled to help you fall in love with Rio! Location- just a few blocks from the beach, but a quiet and safe street corner, price- very reasonable, atmosphere- very sociable staff and guests. It's good and friendly for solo travelers. More than half of the travelers went out together as a group- Lapa on Friday or Saturday, Favela Funk party on Sunday, Boat party on Monday etc.. and upstairs there's a sweet bar run by a kind carioca ;)

The staff are fantastic, so helpful ' they could´`t do anymore. As someone travelling on their won for the first time, I felt very comfortbale, made great friends and will definately recommend it!

Amazing hostel! Extremely clean, safe location in Copacabana- close to beach and bars. The best staff of any hostel I have ever stayed in- every single person (even those who don't speak English) go out of their way to make you feel welcome and comfortable. This makes an extremely warm and fun atmosphere! Thanks so much for making our stay in Rio so incredible, we miss you already!!

I absolutely loved this hostel!! Unfortunately I was only able to stay two. I want to return to Rio and I would stay in this hostel again. It's the perfect size, not too big nor too small. There are always things to do, night and day. The location is great for the price, in Copacabana a few blocks from the famous beach. Everyone is friendly and it's easy to meet other travelers. What really made the difference for me was the staff! Most helpful and best staff in the WORLD! Can't wait to return!

This Hostel was amazing in every way. The staff is very friendly, talks to the guests and helps where they can. The Rooms and the Floors were cleaned every day and the Price is low for a location like this. Go there & enjoy Rio...

Great atmosphere and friendly staff.

The room really small and compact for 12 persons, always long queue for bathroom. Like the atmosphere, all staffs are friendly and helpful, wifi in room, good security and safe to keep important document in hostel.
