The staff is very helpful people... if you don't mind to sleep in a little crowded space you would try this hostel, very close from Copacabana and Ipanema.

Staff were excellent, so friendly nod helpful. We missed our bus and had to stay an extra night and they were so accommodating. 3 tier bunks are a pain but these were not the worst , its to be expected in Rio. A nice cosy atmosphere in the bar which is great for meeting people... And a free caipirinha on arrival! Also a great all you can eat breakfast . Will definitely stay here again.

I spent 6 nights in a super 3 bed dorm. Recently I've been to lots of Hostels and I have to say that Walk on the Beach was the best! Alcira the owner of the place, the reception staff as well as the housekeeping were extremly friendly and helpful! They give lots of fantastic advices to Tourist, and are always up for a short chat. The facilities were amazing. The reception area TV-room and Bar are very cosy and good places to socialize . The free break was great! A must have been place indeed!

On the one hand, the common areas are really good and the staff are really friendly and super helpful. BUT, after a year and 1/2 travelling in Latin America I can easily say that this hostel has the WORST MATTRESSES of all hostels I've stayed in - thin so you feel the slats and they have a vinyl cover which makes for a hot sweaty and uncomfortable sleep. They should also provide mosquito nets as the place seems to be plagued by mozzies. Breakfast was also among the most basic I've had in Brazil

Thanks for your review. We are sorry about your experience with the mattresses, they are standard. We were surprised by your opinion about the covers, since experienced travelers tend to consider them a plus - they make it possible to sanitize all the matteresses on a daily basis. Brazil is a tropical country and this is mosquito season - mosquito spray is what usually helps. Our breakfast include coffee, tea, milk, juice, bread, cheese, ham, butter, jam, fruits and cake. Thanks again.

AMAZING staff, from the reception team to the bar guy, extraordinarily friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I can't stress this enough - they really make this an exceptional hostel! Awesome atmosphere, many guests were hanging out and partying together by the end of our stay. Beds aren't very comfortable but fine for our 4-day stay. Nice touches: good hostel bar (great atmosphere), kitchen, cheap towel rental, computers and wifi. Great location for bus/metro and beach access.

We had a blast at the hostel. The staff were the best. Very friendly and informative. I have traveled many places and have not experienced a hostel like this one. It was a home away from home, with great parties planned every night. The location was great too.

What really made this hostel was the staff. They were really awesome people, always around the hostel to hang out with and chat. they were extremely kind and very helpful. however, i wasnt too pleased with the rooms and beds. they have 3 bunk beds that are stacked 3 beds high, and the rooms are small, way too small for 9 people. the mattresses were terrible, i felt like i was in prison. still a nice hostel, but not worthy of the high rating that it has

Sorry we did not live up to your expectations. All our facilities are exactly as advertised. Three tierd bunks are necessary to keep our prices more affordable, most of our guests understand that. Some others, however, are not worthy trying to get that through... Thanks for taking time to leave a review.

A very good place to meet other backpackers in Rio, Very good location near the party/alive section of town with good links to places like Downtown and Lapa. Very basic but well worth a visit if you´re a backpacker. I would definitely stay there again.

Walk on the Beach was by far the best hostel I stayed at in Brazil! The staff were so friendly and helpful; they gave honest advice about the area, and all a pleasure to meet! The hostel was clean, breakfast was great, and the location was very convenient- just two blocks to Copacabana’s beachfront! I would totally recommend! Thank you Walk on the Beach and best of luck with your expansion!!

One of the best hostels in which I`ve been to, maybe the best one! Besides the rooms, which are normal dorms (don`t imagine this is a hotel), the perfect location and the excellent staff, the hostel has an amazing atomsphere, it´s very easy get to know the travelers! I really recommend to stay here!

Excellent stay, good for parties and good people, but only one shower for too many people!

Thanks for the review, but there has been a miscount. There are FIVE showers in total, more enough for the number of guests we have. Once again, thanks for taking time to leave a review!

We loved this hostel! It was in a great location, a short walk from the beach plus near plenty of restaurants and good transport links. The staff are absolutely brilliant - they really go out of their way to be friendly and helpful, including helping us fix our camera's broken memory card! There's a nice atmosphere in the hostel and we met lots of other travellers in the bar over a caipirinha at the end of a busy day. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon!

Amazing staff. Very friendly and helpful. The entire hostel is cleaned at least once a day. Very good place to meet other travelers. Location is unbeatable: 5 min walk to copacabanna beach and only 10-15 to ipanema.
