living in a safe favela. It can be reached after a hill and 143 steep stairs - super exhausting! staff was nice and helped us with the tours and taxi. They speak good english. Hard to get in contact with other guests, because the common area is 21 steps away in a different house. The common area and kitchen were quite dirty with a lot of ants and cockroaches. Dorms and private bathroom are clean but simple. very few breakfast - just toast, no self-service. Good party initiation & organisation!
Friendly staff, location was a bit far but a 20 min walk to copacabana beach, not including the 100+ steps to get up to the place. Kitchen is another 20 steps up in a separate house which was a slight inconvenience. Bathrooms and toilets were not very clean. Wet towels on the floor, no doors for the toilets in the communal bathroom.
A nice hostel. Nice receptionist and staff. A few things were still under construction during my stay but still one of the best addresses in Rio. And the neibourhood is very safe and friendly
