Good location, close to town and right near the beach. Staff are very friendly, but reception is closed most of the day. When I was there in the fall (off-peak) it was very quiet, most people there were working.

The best hostel in WA in my experience. Loved the cake and coffee offered to the guests 6.30 nightly. very well managed by professional staff. someone even called me after i made reservations to welcome me. kitchen and bathrooms always very clean. guests followed the rules. partying is low key making it far more comfortable than any other hostel i;ve stayed in AU. however, w/ youth gang activity at night in the city there's great room for improvement on security. remove noisy vending machines.

Because I had booked online, I was unable to get a refund on the last two days' stay there, despite giving them 48/55 hours' notice that I would be leaving earlier than expected. I had not read anywhere that this restriction applies. Youhg inexperienced staff are left to deal face to face with customers: the boss keeps away, and they were clearly overwhelmed at times.

This backpackers has wonderful staff who are very welcoming. They also offer free cake each evening, as well as pizza and movie nights. The bathrooms do feel a little run down, but otherwise the atmosphere here was very friendly.

We booked ages ago, and although the hostel had our booking when we arrived, our room had been double booked and we had to wait a while until they found us a room. James on reception was very pleasant though. Clean bathrooms and good showers. Our room was very poor - stifling hot, no fan ( what would that cost to put a fan in the room ?!) and desperately needing a lick of paint. Very old beds and furniture.
