Was an average Hostel. The location was quite good, however staff (owner) was nice, but a tad pushy and some rather offensive posters degrading women hanging up above the sink. Other than that I felt safe and met some nice people that were staying there. Location was wonderful great zoo, park and metro.

If you are looking for a very cheap place to stay for a night or two then you can't really complain about this hostel. It is not at all luxurious however it is relatively clean and the staff are very friendly. You can take a nearby bus into downtown Washington and there are a lot of bars and restaurants located right next to the hostel. There are however no lockers in the rooms and my bed was a very squeaky top bunk, but despite that, I would stay there again.

The stuff is friendly, always there to help. The rooms are clean with AC. The district is full of restaurants, pubs. A good place to to meet people and party. The only thing is that they don't accept credit cards. Cash only!

This is a party hostel. It is located on Adams Morgan street and right above a club that plays dance music until 2am. I was down for going out and partying so I didn't mind and actually had an amazing time at this hostel especially meeting people from abroad. So if you are looking to party, stay here! That being said, if you are looking for a nice quiet few nights, this isn't your spot. The rooms are adequate as are other living quarters. Nice staff.

I had a really nice stay at WISC! My bed was clean and comfy, the staff was really friendly and I really felt at home in no time once I got there. The location is also great and I could walk to a bunch of places without any problems. If you're a young traveler looking for a very good value for your money, I recommend this hostel.

Our stay at this hostel was the best part of Washington DC. The kitchen wasn't always clean, the place wasn't always completely organised but if those are your priorities then what are you doing hostelling?! The staff, especially the owner, were interesting and friendly, the facilities were perfect and most importantly the atmosphere was the best of any hostel on the east coast.

The fact that there´s a night club literally right under the hostel, is something which should be stated on the website. I know it is cheap to stay at the hostel and that you get what you pay for, BUT...please, please, please, invest in a dishwasher! I was disgusted when I saw the state of the so called kitchen! Lastly, if it says breakfast on the website, offer breakfast for crying out loud! Milk, peanut butter and jam is NOT breakfast!

The staff was great and helpful, it was a nice atmosphere. The toilets and showers were clean and fresh. The living room could be a bit messy. The kitchen could have been cleaner as people don't always wash their dishes. but on the other hand you can just go out on the street and it is full of all kinds of restaurants, also bars. The location is really great, nice area. There is also a supermarket very close.

My worst student hostel experience ever, having seen over 15 across several countries. Cheap and good location though. The 3 different receptionists were either sleeping or swearing like a 16 year old who had just discovered the words... There is free wifi if you have your own computer, or pay $1 for ten minutes on a computer that doesn't work. Given the price, Im not surprised at the thin layer of dirt and crumbs everywhere. Nightlife is cool, but very loud & close enough to wake you up.

I spend a wonderful time in Washington thanks to this hostel : you feel at home instantly, can easily meet other people. If you have time, you can walk to the mall in less than 1 hour and the trip is really nice. I will come back, for sure !

The location is great, it is close to a metro station and practically walkable to tourist sites. The bedrooms are clean and you have a private locker ( bring your own lock). The only thing that put me off is the internet connection. If you stay in the upper floor, then it is very likely you won't get any connection, so the only place you can connect to the internet is the lobby, which is not convenient if you want to browse the internet in your pajamas or the comfort of your bedroom.

The hostel was quite disorderly. when you come to the "reception" you will find yourself in an old living room, with dirty socks laying all over the ground. the rooms were ok, but there are only 2 bathrooms for about i guess 30 people staying on that floor. Checkout time is between 8 and 11, but at about 9.30am no one was there and it took me a while to find someone to get the key deposit back. there is no chance to keep your luggage, but they told me i can leave it in that old living room...

Difficult to find but in a nice location with some shops near by. The bus station is not far and in a short walk you can be at a metro stop.
