Wanted to say thank you to Steve and his team for the cordially hosting in Washington International Student Center. I had an awesome week staying at the lively hostel where the mood always was good and I felt home from the first day on. I met a lot of interesting people from everywhere which created an incredible atmosphere... real international understanding. Moving! The breakfast was sufficient and always in time but I whiched they had porridge. Thank you WISC for a great week!

The Washington International Student Center is by far the best hostel to stay at in Washington DC. It has the best staff and is the ultimate home away from home! The living room is a great place to chat and meet fellow travelers. This is the 'cool' place to stay as it is relatively exclusive and is located in the best party spot in Washington DC, Adams Morgan! All of the hottest bars and clubs surround this hostel and I would recommend this hostel to anyone that is looking for fun and friends!!

I've been ther one and a half years ago already and i don't regret that i went back. Adam's Morgan is THE Party-neighborhood, the hostel is in the center of capital city nightlife! The rooms are clean, the lobby is comfortable and kitchen/bathrooms are in a good condition. Staff is very friendly and helpful, roommates were nice and altogether it was awesome! The only bad thing: parking is a catastrophy, use metrostation dupont circle (park&ride if you have a car)

Been here before. Home like situation. The beds are wider than most other hostels. Central location with good clubs around it. Walking distance to Metro or if you want to the heart of the city. Can buy food at the local market to bring back and cook.

The owner of the hostel is very rude. In addition to being loud and obnoxious, he literally farted right in front of me as I was paying him. The kitchen was incredibly unkept and the breakfast was a bag of bread with some butter. I highly recommend going somewhere else.

The kitchen was so dirty and rosty it cannot be used, we decided to eat out every day to maintain our health. There's a nightclub under the hostel, so no sleep until 4 am from Thursday on even with earplugs. Very unprofessional owner & receptionist who was rarely there. The closet was used for storage of toilet paper and old paint buckets, so no space & no clothesline to hang our clothes. It smells bad and the bathrooms are dirty and dusty, there is litter under the beds and in the corners.

The kitchen is so dirty and old you cannot use it. Two windows were broken, and the owner did nothing to fix it. The breakfast is rediculous, the cheapest and most untasty ever. This hostel is an insult to every traveler. There was no shuttle from the train station as promised, instead we had to take the subway and a taxi, for which the owner promised to give the money back, which he did only half. This is a total disappointment, better go to hi hostel. Under our room a club no sleep wt earplugs

The hostel smelled terrible. I'd start by improving the smell, it doesn't cost much but it would make your hostel look a hundred times better.

The bathroom was awful. I was happy I stayed there only for one night. The atmosphere was not very nice.

This was a terrible hostel. It was dirty, the guy at the front desk was very rude and unhelpful. I was told that there would be someone at reception from 8am but when I wanted to check out there was no one so I lost my key deposit, and I know the same thing happened to others. A good location, probably the only redeeming quality

The place is a bit of a dump, but the beds and bathrooms are fairly clean and comfortable... The hostel itself wasn't at all social and didn't have any activities, but is in an awesome location amongst bars and cafes, and an easy bus ride to every where else in Washington. It's noisy at night, so not the best place if you want to rest... The service wasn't too great... We were left outside for a fair while waiting to check in, and weren't able to pay on card which is ridiculous for a hostel.

Impressed with the warmth of the reception and the follow-up. No surprises. Just plain efficiency. A good bargain too with no added tax which is charged in hostels closer to the Mall. Their rules are relaxed and humane. Very fine fellow hostelers, making the stay in DC all the more pleasant. The street is too active but what can you do? Washington’s old reputation of being boring no longer applies. Good bus lines to the center of things cultural and political.

The staff overbooked, and we almost didn't have a bed. Luckily, they were able to find us a place to stay.

I would rather sleep on the street than in this place. Can't believe Hostelworld lets them be in their system. Just a whole in the wall. Dirty, loud, poor service. Breakfeast wasa loaf of frozen bread on a tab;e that had a half full box of shell maccaroni and a can of saude, obviously someone left behind. A jar of peanut butt (hydrogonated oil) some for of butter in a dirty refrigerator. The sink was full of dirty dishes, the trash cans were full and overflowing. A sock in the hall leading to t

The hostel is very dirty. rooms are very small, and they accommodate more than its limit. I stayed in many hostels in different countries and this was bad compared to those places. one can keep this as last option.

Suck at customer service. 1) While booking I mentioned that I'll be arriving at 7am. The gate was locked from inside and no one neither opened the door nor picked up the phone until 8.05 am. I was standing outside in the rain. 2) I came back from work at 8 pm and pressed the bell at the gate for someone to open the door. A guy came and scolded me saying "Are you mad? You have the key for main door with you then why are you..blah". No one told me earlier that one of the 2 keys they gave was of ..

Messy but clean, so that's good enough. The bedrooms on 18th St side are way too noisy, nobody could sleep there, but on the opposite side is ok. Staff is quite disorganized, and there is little communication between them. Free parking for first night is good and just next to the hostel.
