If you have the choice, don\'t stay there. I booked it last minute because there was no more beds available at Hostelling International. The staff asks too many private questions, the linens and pillows are disgusting. I was in a mixed dorm but ended up sleeping in the common room because it was actually all male and one of the guys just took my bed. Plus, the staff took off all my sheets while I was away during the day, without notification. I had to ask for other linens.

Not bad at all. Will go back.. There is A/C.. It is difficult to find the hostel since it is hiding between restaurants.. If you are sensitive, do not go there. There is a night club downstairs, which will make you unable to sleep easily if your eyes are not heavy enough. The location is more than excellent. However, you need to walk for 10 mins to reach subway station on the other side of the bridge... Many of guests are living in that place... Do not expect a lot of tourists like you...

A little cleaning wouldn't go astray at this hostel! It looked like the bathrooms hadn't been cleaned in weeks. Same with underneath the beds. There were no lockers in the room either which I think is essential for hostels. The location is ok, it's in Adams Morgan which is the "cool" area in DC. But it is far from the subway system. They also don't accept debit or credit cards only cash which can be annoying. I was meant to stay 3 night but only lasted 2 because I really didn't enjoy my stay

Waiting for the bathroom at 8:30 in the morning for an hour blows. Cost isn\'t the cheapest, but not the highest either. Place is dumpy, but it\'s a hostel, and it\'s less than $30 it\'s on the lower end of what is expected from hostels in terms of class. Location is its main attraction. I don\'t care for the fact that you have to book through this site, however they won\'t take walk-ins or phone call-ins. And I wish they didn\'t act so reluctant to take credit cards. Nice guy usually runs it, though

The hostel is in a great area of Washington DC. Did not know it was a cool area to be in. Came with a friend and we had a good time. People who work there vary but the owner is helpful and kind. You could get to all the sites easy. Would go back again.

I got asked for my credit card number at arrival. The receptionist told me it was in case we broke something. The next day they had deposited the whole amount for all nights without any notice. FYI. The rooms that shows in the pictures is not what we got. We got a room with a bed and about 2 square meters to walk on. Other than this, this was a very nice stay The bathroom was actually very nice. The price was very good so I probably shouldn't complain.

The person running this hostel, Steve, is the most flexible and laid back hostelowner I have ever met. It's like staying at your uncles house. Don't expect hostel professionalism, expect a warm and welcoming house. Good common area for meeting people, dorms were fine, a bit small though, 4 bathrooms in total, a bit too few but it worked. Excellent value for money, excellent located in Adams Morgan, 1-2 miles from major sights. If you on top of that like the NBA, i HIGHLY recommend this hostel

in this hostel you'll get one of 24 beds (average matresses), access to clean bathrooms, a common room (comfortable couches and cable tv, security lockers) in adams morgan, a local neighbourhood with bars, restaurants, half hour walk to the main tourist attractions in dc, 15 minutes to the nearest metro. steve the owner is eccentric but takes great pride in his hostel and his guest's comfort so i chalk that up to a plus.

It was a really place neighborhood to be in with all the restaurants and bar,and a pedi/manicure for $35 some block down the street. Although our stay at the hotel(2 girls) was ok so far,the cleanliness should definitely be reviewed in the bathrooms. i wasnt feeling ok in them.rooms are..ok. The staff was great with us. We asked for a female only room and saw 2guys coming in one night!!! the next day the owner came to us and apologize and fixed that small inconvenient. he had been cool!

Was a bit shocked to begin with, was a bit different to other hostels I had previously stayed in. However I had good time, was in a great area, felt safe & secure & didn't loose any thing. Steve (the owner) is a character for sure, a nice guy who is willing to help people out if they need or ask for it & so were the rest of his staff. Best of luck in the finals & the seasons to come Steve & the Spurs. Go Thunder

first of all, the problem was the manager. He was rude, inpolite and not helpfull at all. When we asked him for a taxi, he told us to go to the corner and to wave hands to see what happened. The only other employee was excelent. The room was dirty.
