Great hotel and good value for money - huge rooms with good showers and tvs etc. Staff went out of their way to help us and we're so friendly and welcoming. Only criticism is that we booked a trip to halong bay through the hotel which turned out to be terrible - not their fault I guess but I would hope they wouldn't recommend the cruise company to anymore guests. Would definitely stay here again as the staff and accommodation were amazing!!!
Staff were best of all I came across on travels great advice on were to go in Vietnam in general not just there local area, they were nice and every time we came in they gave us fruit salads and smoothies, it's the little things.

The Waterland Hotel is in a dodgy-looking alley, and from the outside it doesn't necessarily inspire much confidence. Once inside, you do realize that the hotel offers great value! Okay, so the rooms might not be as nice as what you see on the online pics and there is some wear and tear (light fixture broken in my bathroom, missing handles on the some of the furniture, leaking valve on the toilet). But at 15$ for a queen size bed, a big room, a nice bathroom, and the A/C), you can't complain!
Such a lovely and welcoming hotel. The staff are absolutely wonderful and will take great care of you. Free breakfast included in the price with a good choice selection. They run tours of the area through the hotel which are great value for money. Large comfortable rooms. Would stay here again.
The room was very spacious but it meant the tv was further away, the wardrobe was tacky, the aircon sprayed out water, wifi was poor. Other than that the hotel was great, the beds were comfy and large, and the staff friendly etc.
Best value for money ever! Most helpfull staf you van imagine.
Overall ok. But some smell from mould in the bathroom.
An extremely friendly hotel! We were met at the bus stop by the staff who ordered and paid for a taxi transfer to hotel. We were given fruit and ginger tea before checking in. Room was large and comfortable with good facilities. Staff have good tips as to where to go for food and site and can also arrange day trips. I would definitely go back to this hotel.
Very clean and comfortable rooms, though since we came in December when things were quite humid, it took an incredibly long time for things to dry in our rooms. The staff is very friendly and was always helpful with restaurant and attraction recommendations. However, you may want to get another map, since things located further away from the hostel might be difficult to find on the map they provide.
Nothing special. No atmosphere, no common area. Room was very damp, papers soggy and clothes and bed sheets were damp from being in there! Room fairly clean, dropped something under bed - disgusting. Thick dust, hairs and dirt. Staff very abrupt when not wanting to book trips with them. Down a dingy alley but only 5mins walk to nice street with bars etc.
The hotel is deceiving from the outside. It's in an alley and there's not much to the front, but the rooms were very spacious and super clean. The breakfast was the typical breakfast we've had in Vietnam - baguette and eggs cooked to order. It was good. They kept giving us free tea any time we were sitting in the lobby which was nice too.
Wonderfull rooms, nice atmosphere and common rooms. The staff is excellent and the pick up service by motorbike real fun.
After our free pick-up from the train station we were welcomed with fresh fruits an tea. In our room were free fresh oranges and a candle lighted. Everytime you are at the reception area you get free tea. We also booked two tours to the DMZ and around town. Both were good. We would stay there again. Staff was great!
The staff at waterland made us feel right at home with endless cups of tea and fruit on offer. They were friendly and helpful, the two days we were in Hue it rained non stop so the umbrellas and rain coats the staff provided were extremely useful. The hostel provided a free taxi from the train station and went one of the staff went twice to the train station to buy train tickets for us. They made what could have been a miserable two days much happier.
This is one of the most friendly, helpful and welcoming staff! The hotel is clean and enjoyable! Definitely a must stay especially at the Price :)
the friendliness of the staff makes the place
The friendliness and generosity of the staff at this hotel was incredible. Free smoothies in reception area, they made us a free dinner when it was raining outside and the street was bit flooded, gave my partner some peppermint lotion for some skin irritation and dropped off some pictures to the bus station that we had left in the room. Amazing very friendly and would not accept a tip. Thank you to all the staff -breakfast was great too!
Nice little hotel in a backalley with spacy and comfy rooms with city view. Staff is always helpfull and tries to maske your stay as comforting as possible. They pick you up from train or bus station for free and can organize any trip or ticket you need. They even gave us free water when we where heading out. We had a quite a lot of rain during our stay and on the leave they insistet to gift me a propper raincoat because mine was useless. We felt comfy and well served.
