Ideal base for climbing Carrantouhill, Ireland's highest mountain, along with the MacGillicuddy reeks and the Purple, Tomies, Sheehy Mountain Ridge which afford spectacular views over upper, middle and lower lakes. Fishing on the River Laune (Permits: salmon Euro25, trout Euro8 per day) available. Also nearby is Beaufort Golf Course(18 hole) and Dunloe golf course (9 hole)
