Staff are amazing, the hostel itself is full of character, and beer is only 1.5 euro at the cafe!

Super cool place, aesthetically! Best way to describe it is "a home from hipsters". Great coffee shops and bakeries near by! Every close to the underground! Personal bed lights and outlets! Issues: washing machine and dryer were broken, one toilet on my floor (was clogged all night and morning), lockers not big enough for my 68L pack and wifi did not work for me anywhere in the hostel/cafe, kitchen had no soap, so people were just piling there dishes.. Great breakfast for only €4.50.

The hostel was pretty expensive for what you got. The hallways smelled really bad the entire time, but the smell wasn't in the rooms. It seemed pretty dirty, especially the bathroom and kitchen. The atmosphere was really quite bad. Not a good place if your traveling alone or want to meet anyone, but if you are with somebody or know people in the city the location is pretty conveniently located. Really easy to get anywhere in the city from the location.

I've stayed in many different hostels over the years, and this one was by far the best one I have stayed at. The beds were clean and comfortable, the bathrooms were clean and the bar was fantastic as well. The location of the hostel is ideal also, directly outside is Puisstraße underground station which can get you anywhere in the city in no time whatsoever.

Cozy, unpretentious place which was extremely clean and had friendly and helpful staff. Located conveniently close to the old city, about half an hour by foot. The only negative was that there was only one toilet (shared between two 4-bed dorms) which got a bit crowded in the morning.

Very nice hostel & cafe just next to the U- Banh/Tram station. Nice and clean rooms with power sockets and lamp for everyone. Small number of showers and toilets unfortunately. Staff is very helpful. Lack of atmosphere.

there is just one toilet for 4 room of dorms and one shower. when i was there the toilet had a problem. the coridor smelled weird. very good cafe dowstairs. i recommend the indian soup

staff didn't offer with information about the city or location. was nice to chill out in the Cafe and enjoy local beers at a decent price.

Nice place!

The wifi seems to have issues with consistency. Sometimes I could connect and other times it took an hour or two just to connect. Having reliable wifi is very important to young travelers and has potential to make or break your ratings. I really enjoyed staying at your hostel and appreciate your kind hospitality.

Nice, clean, friendly staff. Located a fair bit out of town but lies right next to subway stop which is ideal. Right across from Lidl and kitchen facilities are good enough to cook a cheap meal. Just slightly lacking in atmosphere, perhaps not the fault of the hostel though.

Had a drink with the staff, they were really nice people. Enjoyed my time here.

Hostel is quite far from the city center, but the metro station is like 10m from the entrance, so it's not a problem. The kitchen is nice, with good equipment (only a cutting board was missing). A good place to rest your head for couple of nights.

Hostel is located in Ehrenfeld which is a walk from town but I thought was a very nice area with parks, cheap supermarket and various bars/restaurants (with Veggie/vegan options). Rooms are above a bar where I enjoyed a few evening drinks and met some other travellers. I only stayed one night but imagine I would have enjoyed staying longer. Found the members of staff on the bar very friendly, helpful and up for a chat.

I think this hostel, Weltempfänger, got it. It has a nice decor, good location and a nice lobby/bar. The only downside during my stay was the atmosphere. It was kind of hard to get to know other guests maybe the bartender could have worked the crowd to get a more chit-chatty atmosphere, hard to say could just be bad luck for me that time. Would recommend others to stay here.

Staff weren't very friendly, corridor smelt kinda putrid, but the rooms and bathrooms were clean and the hostel is quiet and well located. The cafe downstairs is quite cool.

excellent stuff. bathroom in room

The wifi worked very poorly in room 3. Practically it didn't. It worked ok in the downstairs café.

Had a really nice stay!!

the hostel is located in the bustling suburb of ehrenfeld. it is not so close to the center of cologne but it is next to the u-bahn station at piusstrasse so it is not difficult to go to the altstadt, train station/dom and airport. it is attached to a nice cafe/bar with good prices and atmosphere. not convenient if you have a car as parking is scarce in this neighborhood.
