The hostel is located about 1 km from the Nile river. Taking public minivan costs 1 EGP. The owner tried hard and made his best to taking care of us. Excellent Egyptian lunch set costs 25 EGP.
This hotel is on the better side of Luxor, namely the West Bank. Here you get the feeling your in a small village with the benefits of a big town. The staff will make you feel you're at home. The restaurant they have since a few months is excellent and has a wide range of choices and it has a beautiful view. The best hotel we stayed at in Egypt, for a not a lot of money.
I live in Egypt and I thought this was an very comfortable well-run family hotel. Excellent value for money. Newly renovated, large rooms with a/c, clean white sheets plus enormous bathroom with lots of hot water. Nice breakfast. In a good location half way between the ferry and the valley of the kings. The only snag is that it is next to a road with quite a lot of local traffic in the daytime, but was not noisy at night.
Very charming hostel, with a very helpful staff - rooms are great too, for a very affordable price. The best thing is its location, on the quiet west bank, as opposed to the crowded and noisy opposite bank.
