The hostel is ok, when you only stay for a weekend. It is very close to the subway and central park => that is nice :-) But the rooms are not nice (very old) and it is dirty!

I have stayed in this hostel for 3 nights. It is one of the worst places I have ever stayed. It is not clean and the athmosphere is not nice. Although I would still recommend it to people who want a great location in the city. It is close to Lincoln center and the Broadway. So if you don't care about where you stay and that you have to share the bathroom with a whole foor I would suggest you to go for it.

The hostel looks like it hasnt been well-kept or renovated for the past 20 year . The rooms are run down, poor bed, shared bathrooms is not clean. I suspect the ownders are just in to make money and not to keep their customers coming back. I was kinda expecting it when i read reviews from the others but the location is just one block away from where i were to go for my appoinments. Otherwise, I wouldn't pick this place if I were to come down to new york for a holiday stay! There's better value for money el

The place looks like it haven't been renovated for 30 years and you will have to share your bathroom with a whole floor. Yet if you don't care about the place you stay, go there because the location is excellent.

The staff in the hostel was very nice and helpful. I was just disappointed by the standard of the rooms and corridors.

The hostel completely served it's purpose - a place to sleep and brush my teeth on a whirlwind trip to New York. The facilities are basic and the showers a little awkward (there was nowhere to put your clothes or get changed once you were showered) but everything was very clean. The hostel staff forgot to take their happy pills and were a little gruff - but sure who cares when you are in New York! Fantastic location - would recommend it if you are just looking for a place to put your stuff.

The location of the hostel is excellent, but the room and the bathrooms in our floor (10th) are very old. Regarding the room, although is old, was clean and the mattress was good, so sleeps well. The only problem was that the light of our room switch on alone a lot of times during the night. The bathroom however, was very old and dirty and the water of the shower was or very cold or too hot (only 2 possibilities). I think it would be necessary a reform.

This is my 2. time at YMCA Westside and I have enjoyed it both time. Central location and easy to get around. Just next side to Central Park which is great!!! Also nice with the gym on 3rd floor after long days in the city. Great security and staff

First night in 914:a dark dingy seeming unclean room; During a rainstorm sleeping was impossible with raindrops sounding like pellets hitting the air conditioner. Requested a change but reception desk was closed; Did not sleep because of this noise and had to sit in the lobby until 4:00 am; In the morning changed rooms WHAT A DIFFRENCE; Clean, confortable and made the rest of the stay enjoyable.

it was a great place to keep our things. The rooms are small but worth it if you're out all day. Very nice area near Central Park and very clean.

Location, location, location! We opted for the semi private bathroom arrangement and found them clean and convenient. The pool and sauna were a bonus. Definitely recommend!

Common bathrooms with curtained showers, hostelry spartan accomodations include towel and linens. My TV worked fine. 63 Bites is downstairs if you need a quick nosh. Didn't use the facilities, but they're open for you to. Right across from Central Park , just up the street from Columbus Circle so easy access to the Subway. Throw a rock to hit Lincoln Center. Grocery stores nearby on Columbus Street. My TV worked fine. Staff gets two thumbs up, very professional and courteous.
