You really don't want to spend time at this hostel, only sleep and go. Corridors in plain yellow and bathrooms equal to the dirty ones in a sports arena. Staff in reception didn't give us a single welcome but seemed bored. Overall the information about rules and facility was poor.

I was put in a room on a floor that was being renovated, and had a bed bug infestation (both myself and my immediate neighbor were moved), and then subsequently placed in a room which was on a floor that wasn't being renovated! It felt like you were placed in a bad room then if you complained you were put somewhere better.

Generally very good - lovely staff and felt secure; the 'atmosphere' rated as average only because of the room itself which was sufficient but the rest of the hostel had a good, friendly atmosphere. We had a tv in our room that didn't work - we weren't there to watch tv and didn't have time to, but it was quite a big piece of redundant furniture invading the already small space within the room. We also had a problem with the light which was on a sensor and kept turning itself on.

Great location and use of the gym is excellent. Just next to Central Park. Rooms are small and basic, could use remodelling. Bathrooms could be cleaned more regularly. Overall a good place to stay on a budget.

I have stayed in many hostels all over the world at all different prices. This was by far the worst. We are 2 young girls so chose a private room. Our door didnt shut unless you lifted it up to jam it shut. There were black hairs on a pillow The TV did not work We weren't advised the bathroom had a code so as we had to get redressed and head downstairs to ask for the code bathroom had 3 toilets only 1 lock worked. shower had no space for anything Terrible service. Do not recommend

Overall very good experience but I did accidently leave my shampoo in the shower (shared by other rooms in the hallway) and it went missing.

Its a cheap stay for the location. Not really a hostel kind of feel though. Not going to find a bunch of travelers exchanging stories in a common room here. Would stay here again though. Its cheap and good enough for the location!

The housekeepers knock the door every single morning, sometimes very early, weaking up the guests.

A big problem is cleanliness. The can change it easily. First they need to ADD AT LEAST ONE MORE BATHROOM WITH SHOWERS on floors where bathrooms are shared. Meanwhile they are doing it they must clean shared women's bathrooms THREE TIMES A DAY -- at 6 am, at 12 noon and at 7 pm. Men's shared bathrooms might be cleaned at least two times a day, If they do it their reputation will go way-way up. thank you

A small and plain room. TV didn't work but that's not why you stay in NY. Shared bathrooms are fine, no lockable showers however. Gym facilities were fantastic. Includes pools. Wifi worked. Looks a little intimidating down the corridors with so many 'cell' like rooms. But we got over it. A unique blend of people staying from young backpackers to elderly residents. We stayed here for the price.

My stay was comfortable. The bathroom could have been cleaner as it was shared by a lot of people. There was good acces to computer and printer.. The location was very good and well served by public transport.

The hotel was very clean in the most part of my stay (except when had too many people using the bathroom at the same time)! The Staff was very helpful and patient!!! And the best thing is the location (very close the Central Park, Broadway and 3 blocks to subway). I highly recommend!!!

I think my room was nice and clean, but the toilets and showers could need some extra love and attention. I was on the 11th floor and only two of three showers worked and one of four sinks in the women's bathroom.
