Loved my few days at westend. The staff are super, the security man at night was also great and the chilling area provided much entertainment- great place if you want to have fun in Sydney and good for single travellers looking to make friends! Showers/bathrooms could do with a revamp/clean!Loved my few days at westend. Our room was clean but we stayed for 2 weeks and our sheets werent changed once & one had a footprint on it when we arrived. Also the very loud announcements were quite annoying and woke us up a couple of times. Cheap, but thats about the only thing going for it! Room was stuffy and the whole place was characterless! Communal areas are rubbish for the size of the hostel but there agian it is central sydney! Sure there are better hostels - shame as Nomads in NZ are brilliant - this one is not! Also find it ridiculous that you had to pay to use a locker to store valuables - money grabbing springs to mind! Location is good.
Staff is good.
Cleanliness = could do with some handsoap in the toilets on 2nd floor.
Had no fun, so will give it average. Came to meet ppl, but got a job so didnīt meet ppl. Only worked for the 3 days I stayed there. i could come back to this hostel.

exactly what to expect of a 32 bed dorm, residents were treating it like their first week at university, the room itself was delapidated and suffered intrusive noise from the exposed piping. walking through all the smokers at the entrance was similarly off-putting.
