Friendly and helpful (willing) staff, very clean, location is very good for connectionflights, to downtown Manhattan it's a little bit far! Good value for money.

If you are looking for shelter, but nothing more, you can choose this hostel. It is clean and the beds are okay for the price. However, if you seek a location to mingel, meet new people and have a great time (also on rainy days) better choose a different hostel with common rooms and more character.

No laundry service Before the check in time there is not much to do, the city is far away to go back. Bathrooms are nice and clean and the rooms too. Good value only problem is the location. Takes too long to get to the city

This was way better than I expected! It is clean, the location is good (esay to get downtown), there are places to eat close by, a small shopping center, the rooms are nice and neat. I will definitly come back when I go back to New York. Its great value for your money.

Great cheap hostel if you're waiting for an early flight or get in late from the airport otherwise it's about a 15-20min walk to subway that takes you straight into manhattan. Clean but boring hostel. No common area. Nothing near but 1 diner. Front desk said they would call a cab

The hostel is quite far away from the city centre, but relatively well connected to public transport. Directions from the city should be more explicit as I found it hard to find the hostel first. It is cheap and clean, and as I didn't spend a lot of time there at all, it was sufficient.

The highway is directly at the hostel and the windows are not sound proof. It takes a while to get to Manhattan but the connections are not bad. The kitchen was the only thing, which was not good. Each morning, we had to look for spoons... But for this price was it ok.

Very good hostel, especially for the price point. 2 bus lines run just 1 block away and will connect you to the NYC Subway system, so for the price point, it really can't be beat. The free WI-FI worked excellently in the room. If you are looking for a no frills, inexpensive and very clean room, this is definitely your place. The staff at the front desk also was helpful and always had smiles. And the nearby 24 hour Jackson Hole diner is a 2 minute walk down the block for late night eats.

I really enjoyed my time here. It is far from the Train, but the bus route is in front of the Hostel. I enjoyed my stay and will come back!

cost effective if you are not going to spend too much time in your room. Too noisy, and the personnel I met was not welcoming at all.

It´s definitely the cheapest hostel in New York City, so don´t aspect too much. The hostel has the atmosphere of a hospital. Most of the staff member are really unfriendly, never smile and make the impression somebody forced them to work there. It takes a long time to get to Manhatten, because the hostel is quite far from the next subway. The area is not the nicest. You have to take a long walk to the subway or wait for the bus to come. The kitchen and the common room are alright.

People criticize the location; it's not that bad. Ok, you wont find yourself in Manhattan where most of the spots interesting for tourists are. Still, the area is quiet, it's safe to walk around at night and it doesn't take long to reach central Manhattan. Staff here is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are cleaned on a daily basis. It offers a big common room with a big kitchen. Negative: no toilet outside the rooms, wifi crashed often and no separate luggage storage room. Otherwise nice place

New York Hostel prices are rising and this was the very best value, about two miles WEST of La Guardia airport so takes a bus to get to the subways - the rooms were clean and it does the job - i will say there is a restaurant one block away that has the best burger you will eat at the Jackson Hole Dinner, the burger is like 2 inches thick I think you can google it as there was also a couple of movies filmed there.

Hostel was dirty overall. Booked a 4-bed room but instead was assigned to a 6-bed male room on the highway side and charged the same price. When confronting the front desk the lady assured me it was the correct room. One of the occupants in my room was a fellow from Nigeria who blasted music on his headphones all night, and got up at 7am to talk loudly on his phone in the room (I know it's not the fault of the hostel itself, but just added to the overall poor experience.)
