The building is very cool, its tradicional chinese building. We stayed in 4 beds room, and it was ok. Just the shower place was at the ground floor and there was one basin on our floor. But the weather was really good so we didnt mind to go out to take shower but i guess during the winter is quite hard. The owner is really nice and helpful as well as all stuff working there. Atmoshere is really frendly. I was really satysfied with this hostel.

They claim a lot of things on their front page on hostelworld that are not true: "24 hours hot shower" No, it is closed 10am-5pm each day. They didn't tell us that when we arrived, it would be useful to know. "Western Toilets" - not for men. There was a small women's toilet with 2 western toilets. The other 2 bathrooms had all squatters. One of them was closed for 3 days while I was there, making it very inconvenient and it only gets cleaned once a day so it got really dirty. There is no bar.
I have stayed in this hostel many times before and know i like it, however the prices were highly inflated this time. I am not sure if this was due to the national day holiday or they have been permanently raised. Is almost twice the cost of other hostels.
Beautiful hostel. I had to work a lot, so I learned to enjoy my desk in my 4-bed-dorm which I had for myself. I'll absolutely recommend your hostel.
The staff were very helpful and flexible when I stupidly showed up having forgotten my passport, so I really appreciated that. However, I feel as though this hostel has all the ingredients to be so much better than it was. It is clean, well set out, and has decent facilities. However, there is often no-one on reception, there isn't much in the way of local information, and there was pretty much no atmosphere when we were there. Not bad, but not great considering the price.
first, i think that "china hostels is....some......" but, this hostel is not. very good Especially, Chinese don't speak English, but hostel main staff can speak English so, if i want to visit other Chinese place, they anytime help me and hostel was located near night market, so at night, i think you can feeling china night in qingdao if you want to visit qingdao, i recommed to visit this hostel

The hostel is easily reachable from the train station by foot. Staff is extremely helpful and they have also western staff: don't worry if you don't seak any Chinese. The streets near the hostel have many places where you can buy food and beer on bags. Even the beaches are not so far away. The cleanliness of the toilet could be improved. The beer festival is very far from the hostel (well, this is not an hostel fault), but take this in mind if you are visiting Qingdao for this reason.
The hotel is located close to the railway station in the middle of PiChaiYuan which is a very lively place and quite convenient to explore the rest of the city. The hotel rooms where clean and lockers were available for each bed. The staff was helpful too, even English speaking staff was present. What I missed however was the unique Youth-Hostel atmosphere. They have a bar but it was not used at all, I would recommend to lower the prices and make it more attractive to all the guests.
I liked the hostel very much. Nice architecture, nice common room, good location. They even have foreigners working on the staff. My biggest complaint is they didn't sweep the floor or empty the trash in my 8-man dorm the entire three days I was there. They explained that this was because they wait until everyone has checked out of the 8-man dorm at once to do cleanup so that people don't lose things they accidentally throw out. This seemed like a lame explanation too me.
1st impressions R important, & this hostel started off on the wrong foot. Basically, the guard @ the gate needs a lesson on hospitality. I received a call to confirm my room, as I was late. That was nice. Overall, nice & mostly clean. It's not very backpacker-ish, and has a distinct local Chinese vibe. WARNINGS: squat toilets (there may be "western" toilets, but I didn't see any), smoking in bar area, overpriced beers, no bfast (staff recommends gutter oil bfast outside).
Located well, staff need to learn more English Info about attractions minimal
I like this hostel. Really nice staff; clean rooms; in the center of the city; many shops, food places and pharmacies near))
Great location, right next to an alley way full of bbq seafood. Short walk to the train station, very handy. Atmosphere is great, although were not able to eat in the common area and had to pay for the pool table.
Oh well, after traveling several month in china probably the worst hostel. First extremely expensive for the double room without any towel or even tooth brush. It seem like you disturb the staff each time you ask for advice. Finally you lose your deposit for nothing. Great ! Thank you for wasted money in your hostel !
Nice hostel with a big courtyard and chill out area. Would have been a lot of fun if it was a bit busier
