I stayed in a lot of hostels now, but the Whitetail is still the best. The owners Jin and Jun transformed a normal Korean house into a cozy hostel. It's easy to meet other travelers in the living room, everything is clean, there is a free breakfast, the inside is bright and modern, they do your laundry for you, its in a good location near to Hongdae, the price is cheap and it has the biggest bathroom I've ever seen in a hostel, thanks Jin and Jun, I will definitely come back again next time!

We only stayed for a short period of time, but absolutely loved it! We felt beyond safe leaving our belongings at the hostel when we were out and about. Jin and Jun offered us maps and tips on seeing Seoul and the surrounding areas. They also booked out DMZ tour in a matter of minutes (it was taking us forever when we tried by ourselves), which was beyond helpful. The free breakfast was excellent, not just bread and coffee like other hostels offer.

Jin and Jun were extremely friendly and helpful. The location is a little out of the way from the downtown, but is about 7-10 minute walk from a convenient subway station. The lodging is a little cramped if you rent out a bed in one of the 6-bed rooms, but that's to be expected. The breakfast was great, though if there are a lot of people at the time you might want to get down early. All in all, you get more than you pay for. Not the most comfortable, but for the price it can't be beat.

A great experience- the staff was very flexible with irregular arrival and departure times, and were serious with security (changed the door passcode on a weekly basis). Thanks!

Cozy little place, owners are very sweet and friendly. Coveniently located in the Hongik district, only 10 minutes by foot to the nearest subway station, 5-6 stations to the city center. . Highly recommended!

It was nice to stay there. If you are looking for a homelike place then this is it! It felt like I was visiting someone's home rather than a "cold" hostel. Breakfast is a big plus and Hongdae area! It was very clean but after showering the floor was always really wet so don't step on the floor with socks only! ;) I would stay there again if I came to Seoul!

really liked this one- comfortably proximate to hip areas yet well-shielded from their hustle and bustle , great pre flight overnight for the early AREX. Really liked the host and living room area - cool carved western banister . Gladly return :)

This is a very homey hostel. Quiet neighborhood. There was breakfast every morning. It was good for a hostel but nothing too special. Some fruit, toast, and maybe a ham/cheese sandwich. The owners were very helpful and provided us with a lot of information about Seoul. They also booked our DMZ tour for us. They answered any and all questions. The only problem we had were mosquitos. They buzzed all night and made it hard to sleep.

The hosts were really very helpful! Willing to make calls and reserve tours and recommend things to do, and the breakfast was great! Hostel was a little far from the metro stop (about 10-15 min walk), but the metro line (Hongik Univ.) was very convenient for transfers to get around the city. It was a bit frustrating to only have two bathrooms...when two people were showering at the same time, you and to wait quite a while to use the toilet!
