Some fellow travellers we met in Krakow recommended that we stay in Why Not when passing through Kiev and I'm really happy they did! The place was really cool and fun, staff and owners are awesome, great location and easy to find, nice get togethers with neighbor hostels over beer and vodka, great nightlife! The best thing is that it's got a chilled out and personal vibe, not like some of those big, franchise-style hostels. Highly Highly Highly recommended! Can't wait to get back there!

Great hostel in good location! Don't let the run down hallway to scare you, the hostel is awesome! The hostel is located in nice neighborhood just one metro stop away from the main square. Rooms were clean and staff was very helpful. If I'll visit Kiev again, this is the first option to live in!

Very good hostel! Location is excellent, not far from subway and center of Kiev, near many places to have a rest or to eat good, staff is good! I enjoyed my stay in Why not? I will recommend this hostel to my friends) Thank you!

It's a nice hostel located in a good area, close to the metro station and not too far from the city centre if you want to go by foot. The staff is nice and really helpful. They even did the laundry for us!!

I got there one night before planned and they were fully booked. They were very helpful, tried calling other hostels, offered me a place at the balcony in the end, (quite ok since very hot weather). It's in a good area, but a bit far from anything of interest - that's just Kiev Sovietic giant blocks, gotta live with it. Nice decoration, nice facilities, Vika and Masha very kind, maybe too many groups. Would go back in a heartbeat, probably to the 10-bed dorm (lots of space and huge lockers).

The hostel itself is very nice :) I like the design, good quality beds, kitchen is ok. But (there is always "the But") ...I cannot understand how the reception administrator can get drunk with his friends and play football in the coridor and listening to loud music at 3 am. It's ok if guests are loud, they came for fun, but the staff should be more responsible from my point of view.

Nice place, fare location (easy to reach by walk form the train station.. or by taxi.. they are prety cheap) Good facilities (really good kitchen and comon areas) and excellents staff

A great place to stay in Kiev no matter how long you plan to be there. They got a really good place for any kind of travelers there, with comfortable beds, clean bathroom and fantastic atmosphere. Staff is very friendly and helpful, and even more - i found great friends there!! I really enjoyed the time and Why Not Kiev became one of my favorite discoveries in Kiev.

Well, i strongly recommend the Why not? Kiev hostel, there is nothing i was dissapointed. Only cons are that the hostel is not located in a strict center of Kiev (but is very close), and there is 10 mins to the nearest metro station (thus not so big deal).

The place seemed really nice and the staff were great on arrival. But then they had to be shut down after my first night so they could fumigate for bed bugs, they told me this on the first night and that I would have to go to their other hostel nearby. But the second night there was no staff at either hostel and it took me over an hour to get my new room sorted (which was a dorm larger than what I paid for). And I was left without my bags for the second night because I couldn't find any staff.

One of the best hostels experiences ever! The atmosphere is awesome and the staff is amazing, not to mention the sense of community. Would recommend to stay in this hostel 100%!

The best hostel I\'ve ever been. Very helpful english speaking staff, cozy atmosphere, facilities (free meals kitchen, cinema, gym, some restrooms), extremely clean and so on... No doubt it\'s excellent place where I\'m going back within next visits to Kiev. Dmitry, Moscow

Great hostel with perfect location in the heart of the beatiful city. The best thing about it spacious rooms and all facilities as: small cinema in basement, gym and chillout style living room. Really friendly staff that is always willing to help and can organise for you interesting day and night schedule. Dont think twice, why not "Why not" in Kiev.

a really nice, decent hostel and definitely one of the best! they got everthing u need: comfy bed, huge lockers, organzied kitchen, laundry, common room, etc. highlight was the people, met great ppl in the hostel - it was like 1 big family. hosts Peter, Lika, Vova are gorgeous, being so helpful and fun, something u can't really expect in a hostel! i got robbed in Kyiv and they tried their best to help me out going to police station. i do really appreciate that! i had great time staying there!

I have been traveling for years and lived in alot of hostels around the world and this is defenetly one of the best places I have come across. The atmosphere was magic and the owner (Peter) did everything he could to keep everybody happy. Thank you Peter for giving me such a fantastic time in Kiev, I will come back tomorrow for another night and will defenetly return one day and recommend it to others.
