I found the atmosphere very boozy, had to walk through a semi permanent group of heavy drinkers smokers to enter the hostel very intimidating, single woman being ogled by drunken men semi permanent residents , the owners great but not on site most of the time , staffed by non professionals without any knowledge of the hospitality industry rude and they seemed to want to be in the , drinking circle, the kitchens were dirty with bugs everywhere, put me off hosteling almost

Great place to stay and is a really good hostel especially by Perth Hostel standards which is very poor. Staff are very friendly, free wifi, free food, within walking distance of the CBD or just catch the free TransPerth buses. Will definitely stay again if I ever find myself in Perth

Wickham was just great!! It has a warm and inviting atmosphere where its super easy to meet people and chat the night away. Very cute yard to chill in and they always have food to eat including an awesome sandwich and pastry night that I was there for. Staff is very friendly and the rooms are very interesting and comfortable.

The staff was awesome! Charlie and Chris made the stay even that much better! They provided so much food - including a great curry night and 2 nights of sandwiches for dinner time. There were so many leftovers on sandwich night you could have one for lunch the next day too. The hostel provides many basics for cooking as well - pasta, rice, soup, you can save a ton of money staying here with all they provide! We WILL be back!

This is a nice place, very clean and friendly. Except for breakfast, we did not try any of the provided free food, but it looked delicious. Be aware that not all rooms have air conditioning, a fact that is not mentioned explicitly. Our room did not and it was really hot. There were two fans though.

Great hostel. Friendly staff 5-10min walk to city or 2 minute bus ride on the free CAT buses. Basic breakfast (cereal and toast) available as well as instant noodles and other food available free at all times. Relaxed atmosphere. Very clean.

I really enjoyed staying at Wickham Retreat Backpackers. A very nice, cozy and lovely place to stay. I would recommend that hostel to everyone who doesn't like to be in a big, anonymous factory hostel. Good job guys!!!

Very Nice Hostel with free WIFI and food. The night I was there was a German night. There was free German dishes and games for the guests. The staff are super friendly and helpful. Just a few minutes walk to the yellow cat bus station which is free to drive around the city centre. Definitely will recommend it to anyone.

Best thing: Hostel where travelling people are more than long term holiday visa workers.

I almost don't want to put such a good rating because I'm afraid that it might draw too many people to this gem and ruin it, but that would be selfish of me. Such an amazing hostel for your money. The owner goes out of his way to make sure that every guest is happy and comfortable. Well worth the money!

Definitely a great value, there will be free food, wifi and laundry included. Charming home, great Italian rest. On the corner or breakfast cafe a few blocks on the water's edge. Easy walk into town or free bus shuttle. I would stay there again!

One of the best Hostels I´ve ever been . The staff is so friendly and helpful. You have free Wi-fi and they even offer pasta and some other things for free which you can prepare for yourself. Three nights a week the hostel has either a free BBQ or Sandwiches. The atmosphere is very good and the City is in walking-distance. If there is a room available and you don´t take it, its your fault ;) ...
