The location of the hostel is great! Close to the main places in La Paz and on the surroundings you have small convinence stores, where you can buy elementary stuff! I was surprise cause there's no kitchen, probably because they have a huge bar there where you don't feel that you're in La Paz... Looks like a regular Irish Pub of the streets where everybody eats, and the prices are average. Continuing with the facilities they only have 2 computers for 170 beds and the wi-fi conection is too bad.
Very well organized hostel. There are so many showers, and 24 hours staff.
Best hostel in South America and a great bar manager
Party hostel as described, fun people, friendly staff. No kitchen for guests to use but good reasonable food served all day. My only issue is smoking, smokers should be kicked outside where they belong, not inside where food is served. I realise this is Bolivia but its also 2013.
Really good if a party is what you're after. Facilities are good, was under some construction during my stay but didnt disrupt sleeping. Food is cheap and decent. Bar is really fun, every night. Beds are good and easy to meet other travelers.
A warm welcome when you walk in the door, makes a massive difference. Bar staff crazy!!!! Would recommend as a party hostel definatly!
Party hostel, don't assume that you could sleep calmly at night. Great bar with decent food and booze. Bathrooms always clean. Showers hot but hard to regulate (either hot or cold or hot...). Breakfast the usual (bread, butter, marmelade, coffee, tea), could start earlier as most tours also start at 7 AM and breakfast only at 8 AM. Would stay there again definitely.
It's a party hostel so perhaps not as luxurious as some, but it certainly delivers on the party front- probably the best, most social atmosphere I've found in South America so far, and there are enough rooms away from the bar to ensure a good night's sleep too. Only complaints would be that's they don't rent out towels, and that the WiFi was very poor (even by Bolivian standards) while I was there, working only intermittently. I'd definitely stay at Wild Rover if I'm in La Paz again though.
Had a great stay at Wild Rover twice over a week. They really do have the most comfortable beds in SA! The only disappointing thing is that they allow smoking in the bar which is really unpleasant when you are trying to enjoy your meal or drink and the bar area is filled with smoke.
Really good hostel in a great location. There was always lots going on in the hostel and a very lively night culture. Security was great with a guard on duty 24hrs a day. The bathrooms were cleaned hourly which was very much appreciated. We had a great stay and would recommend to anyone wanting a fun, clean hostel to base yourself at for your Bolivian adventures.
Nothing bad to say about this hostel, good location, cheap food and drinks at bar. Wifi not so great but I think it's more of a Bolivia problem then the hostels. Beds good, movie room, hammocks, you can party or relax at this hostel . Walkable from bus station close to main square.
Friendly, clean, fun bar, good location.
Fun party hostel, great staff who really know how to cultivate the atmosphere, including coming to your room at 7 pm for some free shots. One complaint is that there are almost no outlets in the rooms to charge your electronics. They have lockers in the reception area where you can charge stuff, but that's a pain in the ass (and they aren't big enough for even the smallest laptops). Overall great place to stay though.
This is a SUPER hostel! It is a party hostel, no doubt about it, but it was always super clean. The only cons: it is allowed to smoke inside, even during breakfast and there is no kitchen available (altough, they serve very tasty meals and for a good price).
Wild rover. Eli and the crew are better than the holy trinity! If you are lame stay away! Eli is the man
Great party vibe compared to Loki (at the time), staff were friendly and sociable, food was decent, beds were comfortable, room was really dark so you could sleep in. My only criticism is that the showers were outside so I felt like I was having luke warm showers and it was cold getting out. Overall I loved Wild Rovers and was a good base for the week.
Great hostel if you like a party! The bar staff really make it, they are truly entertaining. Met some great people there and had a lot of great nights! Definitely go there! Really clean too...they clean on the hour every hour!

No complaints really. Only got to stay for one night and had to be up early so couldnt party but looked like a fun bar. Food is good and not so expensive. They were also fairly accommodating with leaving my bags to go on tours and let me chill for a day on return without paying to use facilities. But, its full of wannabes who just come to la paz to party for weeks and never check out what else is on offer. If thats your crowd then its your place.
