Great hostel with a chill vibe and super helpful staff
Wifi was not working. Tent was unclean when we checked in (there was a bra left in the tent). Bed has a musky smell.

Wild spirit was an amazing experience. The bar & seating area set on a lovely wood framed deck over looking a large forest. Beautiful moon and sun rises. Food both dinner and breakfast were excellent, staff insisted on doing the washing up which was amazing. There are walks from the hostel, attractions and an amazing beach a few km away. Saturday featured a traditional african drumming session around the open fire and the experts gave my son aged 9 a lessons which he loved. Well done wild spirit

We had an incredible experience at Wild Spirit. Not many hostels have such a welcoming and interesting atmosphere. We camped in the grounds and were blown away with quality of the camping facilities. The food on offer was home cooked, delicious and reasonably priced. There was a real community vibe about the place in which everyone pitched in. We loved the quirky layout, the beautiful walks and our nights spent reading around the cozy fire. Excellent hostel in a superb location.
Really nice Hostel with great atmosphere and view. Only point I have to claim: Shower in our room was ether really hot or really cold.
the ultimate spot to destress amd get stuck into your book, take nature walks, hang by the pool, swim by the waterfall or night watch the fire crackle away. the owners are super friendly and the location made this secluded lodge a real peaceful experience. fresh mountain water and coffee was on offer and I wish I could have stayed longer!
Is in a nice area in the middle of the forest with a waterfall walk within the grounds however there is nothing else around and can only really be accessed if you have a car or by the BazBus. The atmosphere seems lively on a night however there is a very strong hippie vibe which is great if you are into that kind of thing but as this isn't our cup of tea it can feel a little strange.
The location is breathtaking and the lodge lovely with more than enough activities available. The walking trails and the food was very good!Every night before dinner we went to the bar to have a drink and was charged R94 for 2 double G&T.On the last night there was a new bartender who charged us R74 for the same. We told her that this is not what we have been paying and realised that we were charged more by the previous volunteer every time.We were also over charged for the amount of meals we had
I can't say enough good things about this place. The staff are amazing. The live music, amazing. The homemade food makes me want to cry it's so good. And don't even get me started on dessert. I met someone that packed up his whole life and moved there and I suggest you do the same.
Well managed.details taken care of,very warm inclusive attitude of staff...which goes into the care with which they prepare food, spaces, and human encounters. They are clearly working together to create something that adds value to our humanity.I will definitely recommend WILD SPIRIT to other people.

Great location but we accessed it by car. An alternate hostel but we enjoyed the quirkiness of it. Dinner that was offered was reasonably priced and lovely. Limited facilities in the area so if you want something make sure you bring it with you.
A great backpackers run by fantastic people
What an amazing place, beautiful views, lovely people, very social chilled vibe. I booked 2 nights and stayed 4!
This hostel is in a very beautiful setting and we had a great stay! The staff are all really friendly and helpful and add to the chilled out vibe of this place. There are lots of things to do near by or you can just enjoy the various walks and facilities at the hostel. They even had some live music on the outside decking on one night which was great!
Very special and eco friendly. Beautiful wooden deck. Free WiFi and a fire in the evenings. They offer very nice and cheap dinner and breakfast. Nice walk to a waterfall about 20 minutes away.
This backpackers certainly has its very own style and atmosphere (the animals are a big plus) and the facilities are nice, but if you don't have a car you are kind of stuck there. Also, staff was sometimes quite grumpy and disorganised.
The owner is a very sweet lady who has had this place for decades and loves it. Her beautiful place is located in a beautiful spot around the mountains. However, the lodge's staff seems to be made up of volunteers who are working for a place to stay, so they know less than half what you ask them, and they forget to be of service, it feels like too much of a favor they "have to" do instead of a service. Not the friendliest staff you'll meet.
