I only stayed for one night as a stopover, but it did everything it needed to do in the 12 hours I was there - comfortable bed (in a tent), good shower, tasty breakfast, Wifi and friendly enough people (including staff).

The next time I come to Nairobi I shall definitely be staying there! The hostel consists of a old colonial house (Built in 1935) with an extensive, leafy and peaceful garden full of mature plants, various birdlife and a tortoise! In the gardens, you can camp or stay in the various garden tents, some of which have en-suite bathroom facilities. The staff were very helpful and informative, the food was excellent (both breakfast and dinner) and you are bound to meet some interesting people.

wildebeest Camp is like an Oasis in Nairobi The house and gardens are so relaxing, the staff were so accommodating and there was such a friendly atmosphere. I was so impressed when I stayed here at the start of my trip that I re-booked and spent my last two days here to wind down and relax before returning to the UK.I shall recommend Wildebeest to anyone visiting Nairobi on a budget. WELL DONE to all

I enjoyed my stay, staff were helpful, the breakfast was great. Security could've been better, there were a couple of times when I got back and there was no one at the gate to let me in. I had to bang and call out for a while before someone let me in. Really homely though and loved the dogs :)

Quiet and relaxing! It wasn't the most social place I've stayed in, but it was a nice home away from the hustle and bustle of Nairobi.

There was one staff member who was quite rude. I booked the buffet dinner but was not told that it was cancelled. I was still charged for the buffet, despite just being given a plate of food that I could have just ordered off the a la carte menu for a much cheaper price. My tent was run down and needed some maintenance work. This was disappointing as i was paying for a luxury tent, a significant expense for me because i wanted a few nights in relative luxury. Guests were very nice.

The setting is fantastic. The place offered great value for money. The buffer dinner could have been a little more generous. We paid for two adults and one child and only managed to get one plate of food. The showers could be a little hotter. The giftware was great. I am looking forward to staying a little longer next time.
