Hostel had an amazing atmosphere and great staff, really great location close to the old city in a large building with lots of space to chill out in. The hostel was a little 'rough and ready' but this only added to the cosy nature and homely vibe. The pet kitten wandering through the hostel was a cute bonus!

The staff here are the biggest bunch of gronks ever. I don't usually leave negative reviews... but the way they (the very blokey Uruguayan volunteers) bullied the young French lady volunteer - I felt I had to say something. No need for details other than she's now moved on thankfully. The hostel is pretty average other than that - wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Pros: Montevideo is a lovely place to hang out. The hostel has a good location, and great potential if it would have been more well managed. Cons: Almost everything in the hostel seems to be broken in some way. No care seems to be taken to fix anything. Had one incident where my bed was cleaned out for unclear reasons, including the stuff I had in it. Had to ask three separate members of staff before anyone actually did anything or got back to me. Too late, of course.

I can recommend this hostel almost unreservedly. There's always something going on (the rooftop is a lovely way to spend an evening with new friends or travel buddies) and the location's great. The only drawbacks are the bathrooms, which could use renovation.

If you're a girl DON'T stay in here! It!s so disgusting, they don't clean this place for years! The plates and the glasses are so dirty! The sink and the shower also dirty! It smells soooo bad! The cheats are disgusting and smells terrible too!!! Argh! Really, don't stay here! The only good thing about this place is the staff, very helpfull!

Not as bad as all the reviews I seen for this place, it is noisy at night but I would of probably joined in if I could speak Spanish, its a nice hostel and everyone there were welcoming.
