Great place to hang out, great outside yard with a sun cover, good kitchen, a minimum of rules, good atmosphere especially for beach and partying. Shared bathrooms are a bit basic, and the place looks a bit run down, but hey...it is a 120 year old building and the price is very budget. I WILL be back.

I arrived here for my last few days on my year visa. This was honestly my favourite hostel that I stayed in throughout Australia. Its just like a big house, full of character and characters. The outdoor communal area makes it, humongous wooden tables and chairs make for hours of cosy sitting and socialising with the other folk staying there. Gutted that I couldn't stay longer, Keri runs a great show.

Do a Google Video search for Muppets+Happiness Hotel+song. That song pretty well sums this place up.

Lovely spot, great outdoor area for food and hanging out. Homely sitting room for chilling. Kitchen was a little untidy and could do with a bit more wiping. But overall, lovely hostel!

I had a great weekend at wollongong backpackers. The staff were helpful and there were a lot of friendly guests staying there. It was only a 5 minute walk from the beach which was handy. Overall a quality place to stay

Good value for money and friendly staff on the phone & when i arrived. clean rooms and bedding, fairly clean shower & toilet areas. access to wifi (strong in the communal area but still there in the rooms). Other guests were friendly - some had been there a while so were good for advice! Good location near beach and town centre. My 1st hostel in Australia, laid back, would recommend!

Less cooking staff makes selfcooking not very comfortable. It is not sure that nobody has slept before in your bed. And please don`t make the fatal misstake and look under the bed!
