Wombats City Hostel Vienna- The Base Reviews

Best Hostel ever!!! I had the feeling been back in OZ. Cool Staff ,best Bar and great people up there ;-) We ll see us back in Wombats Munich ;-) and in sommer back to vienna ;-) Thanks for ALL!!!

i didnt stay at the base but the other one, and i was put in a 4 bed room instead of 6 bed room but then i was not asked if it was ok for me to change.

have to walk a little bit through a small path or u can choose the lounge, which seems much better one.

Very clean!!!

The staff was excellent went above and beyond to make our stay more enjoyable. The rooms were very clean and safe. Loved how the bathroom was in the room. The only problem no hot water in the morning. The bar isn't great either they charged too much for drinks and didn't even know how to make them properly. The location is a good walk from the station but lots of shops and places to eat along the way.

We staid at the hostel with our children 12 and 13 years old, who enjoyed the small soccer and the billiard present at the bar more than anything else. The atmoshere was very nice, not only for young people but also for families with children. The place it was very safe as well and very cheap! It was a very good experience for us.

very good hostel, but I stayed at Wombats Munich and thought it was better.. The bar is very good and breakfast is amazing (and cheap)! If you're staying in Vienna and are on a budget this hostel is the one 4 u!

Pretty far from the center city, but accessible taking the u-bahn and then walking. Free lockers, but not a free computer- inconvient when you're travelling light. Good experience.

Simply Loved our room

The hostel was great. Above our expectations. Very good atmosphere, nice staff, clean rooms, fast Wi-Fi connection,... Also, supermarkets and other essential stores are very close. Other things like museums and malls were 15-30 minutes by walk, which is not that far considering that we were there like tourists and that we wanted to see as much as possible.

The staff working in the hostel is excellent. very helpful in terms of everything you want to know.

Nice place to stay and meet different people. The location is good and quite easy to find also when you are there for the first time. Staff is great, rooms are clean, breakfast is very good, they offer you handy map of the city when you go check in, ....negative side is that it's not that good place to sleep at least if you stay in first floor like I did. You can hear the music from the downstairs, people talking loudly in the hallway in the middle of the night.

Very good atmosphere, great staff and you can really enjoy your evenings at the bar downstairs by meeting other fellow travelers or playing fussball or pool. They also have fair prices for the drinks at the bar so keep it that way:D. The breakfast is great and also at a bargain price. It was a fun and positive experience for me and my friends even though hot water didn't work at all times, but it was understandable since we were there for the NYE and the hostel was fully booked.

There were some problems with warm-cold-warm-hot-cold water =) fix it plssssss!

Good hostel, perfect location close to a major train station. We had a nice 4-bed room with bathroom which was very clean. Would definitely stay there again!

Wombats hostels exspecially the Base are really the best hostels there are!whenever i visit vienna i stay at the base and i have a great time!!!

The hostel, as a whole, is great. The staff is nice, friendly, the location is good, the facilities are good. The only thing that bothered me was that there was too much noise comming from the other rooms.

My friend recommended it. 10 mins walking to Westbanhof and underground to all the major sites. Breakfast was very good and the bar was hopping every night (if you're into that). If you stay here be sure to check out the Mariahilferbrau that you pass on your way to/from the underground. They offer a walking tour (wasn't on the website), but they were on Christmas holiday. I want to go back to Vienna and when I do I will stay here again.
