Great place to stay for not much money! Everything was clean, the linen already on the bed and the staff very friendly and helpful. On top of that the extra-breakfast for not even 4 € was excellent, even for people waking up late. Don't miss out the bar there (or go sleeping undisturbed, if you rather enjoy that)!

The walls in the corridors are too dull and dark. An inonvative lightings and bright colourec walls could be great positive change. The service and the staff were terrific. Best Wishes.

Only spent one night here in a private two-person room, but we were very impressed with this hostel. The room was very clean. It was nice having towels provided. The staff were very helpful! They looked a few things up on the internet for us and even printed out a travel itinerary for the tram to help us get to our next destination. Only downside was the noise in the hall when people came back from the bars. Would definitely stay here again. Thanks again for your help!

It was located around 10minutes walk from Westbahnhof, at the end of a narrow alley. We wished we had booked at WOMBAT: THE LOUNGE which is on the main street(Mariahilferstrasse) and is newer. As a whole was an awesome value for the money we spent (€17 per person). Breakfast was just fantastic for €3.60.

Loved the coffee machine! We liked the 'wombat' culture. Great breakfast. Kids coming back late at night made lots of noise. Extra signs in elevators and in corridors asking (demanding) quiet would be nice.

Wonderful hostel. I stayed at a Wombat hostel a few years ago and was so impressed that I knew I wanted to stay there again upon my return to Vienna. It's in a quiet neighborhood a few blocks away from the Westbahnhof which is very convenient. They helped us find a route to a heuriger that was located on the very outskirts of the city on the wienerlinien website which was extremely helpful. I am so excited they have a few new locations- can't wait to try them!

Lovely staff, easy to find from clear directions. Room was clean and had ensuite bathroom which was convenient and also very clean. Good bar, free map provided with recommendations and facilities like cheap washing machines make this good for a long term stay.

Owner Comment (Show)
Hello Brian! Unfortunately someone must have give you a wrong information. We do have free WIFI on the ground floor (lobby, bar & breakfast area), but there is no WIFI in the rooms at all. And there are two simple reasons for that: 1) We don't want that other guests are being disturbed in the dorm rooms by people hanging on skype all night and 2) we want to encourage our guest to spend time in the common areas to meet fellow travellers. If you have any more questions or feedback, please let us know! We are very sorry about the inconvenience. Chris & the wombats-Team

We took double room with bathroom. Everything was clean. We spent there seven nights. The staff was very friendly and they realy took care of separating the people who wanted to party from those who needed a sleep. So we didn\'t disturb each other :). Good localization, well connected to city centre.

The nearest U-Bahn station was a bit of a walk, about 5 minutes and I wish that there would have been more sitting areas in the lobby/lounge where the wifi was. Also there was only was plug-in outlets in the room, one in the room and one in the bathroom. But the beds were comfy, the people nice, the bar is always a good place to start for the night and I really enjoyed my stay.

I LOVED the ensuite bathroom. The value you get really is worth it. Staff was friendly and the place is very clean. The location is a 10 min walk to Westbahnhof but there\'s nothing to see in the vicinity at all. You have to take public transport to main sites, not quite walkable but only a 10 min train ride downtown. It\'s a residential area and the train station is right behind (still quite though!). The food (gelato & 1EUR pizza slice) on the main street is great. No wi-fi in the rooms

Probably the cleanest hostel I've ever stayed in. Great value breakfast and excellent bar to meet people in the evenings, nice terrace too when the sun's out! Welcome drink very appreciated as well. It's not in the best location, you have to walk about 10 minutes from Westbahnhof to get here, and as a female solo traveller I was aware I didn't want to be on my own after dark walking back. Only thing to improve hostel would be a better kitchen, although there are the basics available.
